    Default Mascot? Mascot?

I just got a questionnaire form the "TFC Council" where I was asked a number of questions. Most of them were innocuous, but a couple of them asked about having a mascot.

I objected to this as strenuously as possible.

One of the questions had to do with "If we get a mascot, what would you like to see?" I suggested The Invisible Man.
O, Maple Leaf around the world, You speak as you rise high above,
Of courage, peace and quiet strength, Of the Canada that I love.
Remind us all, our union bound by ties we cannot sever,
Bright flag revered on every ground, The Maple Leaf forever

If we have a mascot it should be a giant stuffed bitchy. Probably can't name the stuffed hawk bitchy but they can be brother and sister or some shit.

    Itchy and Bitchy.

Kids like mascots. If hugging a giant hawk makes them love soccer when their mom and dad take them to games, I'm for it.

i imagine this mascot would help escort the kids onto the pitch for promotions, etc.
and make appearances like Carlton and the Raptor.
I used to be against this stuff.
but it isn't a big deal.
Big Clubs around the world have them.

It doesn't impact what we do and pretty much all clubs try to impliment something like this on some level.

Not a huge deal, but not my cup of tea either.

Hawk. Fits all too well, we have bitchy, the TFC Academy crest, and the City of Toronto Coat of arms.

If they have to go with a mascot, it should definitely be a hawk.

I would be interested to see what the results of these surveys are - like our polls, you can see the results as soon as you vote. It would let us know what the supporters (or those that signed up for the council anyway) are saying about our direction.

That being said, I have never taken as much time to answer a survey as I do with these. I put comments in every blank space that I can find to make my voice heard. Whether they pay attention or not, at least I have my say.

I said a mascot would be good for community events, clinics, etc... but Bitchy is our mascot on match day.

Forget about mascot questions, what about asking us who to put on starting line up? I think that was weird question to ask, but I wonder if they take our starting 11 choices seriously though.

I'm all for having a mascot. It's great for the kids. Create a club for kids where they can meet the mascot and maybe have a birthday outing at a game or hosted at the ground. Other clubs do this. As for me, well, I'm an adult, so I don't care about mascots.

Yes, this same survey that was asking about mascots were also asking us who to start for TFC. Also, they asked about their off-season signings and if they could do more. lol

Ohhh, that was actually in the survey? I think we should play the average of all the responses as our starting 11.

How about a smartphone app where we can vote on substitutions at half time?

Some people on Twitter are blowing this way out of proportion.

Its a mascot, so what? Who cares? Every club has one, and all of them use them to engage kids and create a family atmosphere. Why does it really matter that a giant stuffed toy wants to dance around the north end of the stadium? Not everything has a moral or a principle to it. People need to learn to just relax and stop trying to be a political activist.

For what its worth, I want a Beaver (giggity) or Left Shark

I answered saying I was not very interested in a mascot, and if I could choose it should be Bitchy The Hawk.

I also said that during the game day experience the mascot should only be around pre game, half time, and at the end of the game.

I also chose to see a mascot at community events and team functions, the Raptor and Carlton the Bear are comic relief at these events.

What about a brightly dressed team of bubble soccer guys? Bubble soccer is hilarious.
