I don't like it at all. Nor It does it make any sense at all.
If he's a youth international, why isn't he at any of the other 30+ US teams. He can't be that exceptional.
First we had sloppy Bono playing or Q. Hopefully that has been rectified.
Now we'll have a US youth international taking away minutes from a young Canadian international.
Rollins is saying RSL hold Spencer's MLS rights.. so we'd ahve to trade something to them just to have this guy potentially play on the main squad.
What if this is so we can create space on the roster for a defender? Basically spencer comes in so that Hamilton can move to the senior squad as soon as we move a striker like Dike or Moore without leaving TFC II depleted. this in turn creates room for another defender on the senior roster whilst also maintaining depth on both rosters
This is probably shuffling, plus a side deal to sign him if he's doing well, conditional on obtaining rights from RSL. We'll end up with a defender spot open for, probably for a number three central defender who can also play wide, someone from inside the league who they know. Just guessing.
This is the only logical explanation for this move. But the part that doesn't make sense is that the point of Hamilton playing with tfc ii is to get minutes. Moving him to the first team doesn't do anything but put him on the bench. It's not like Dike, or Moore are getting much minutes.
@TorontoFCPR: .@TorontoFCII has added forward Anthony Osorio to the TFC II player pool from the @tfcacademy
Anyone know much about Liam Fraser? I am guessing he is an academy kid. Will be with TFCII this weekend.
For anyone who was interested, Fraser is 16 year old academy product. He went the full 90 against Harrisburg playing in Mannella's central midfield position. He did not look out of place. Definitely someone to keep an eye on. Gabriel Boakye also made his debut as a late subitute at right back. He was part of Canada's u17 side from concacaf qualifying last winter. It is nice to see some young kids making an impact.
Roberts also had a great match in net and was named to the team of the week. Final score was 0-0.
This is good news. After a major lull post-Henry / Morgan / Lindsay this TFC II looks like it can produce capable players for the first team again.
Manella looks like a pretty good bet.
Banouli looks promising.
The Richard eckersley look alike CB is one I'd keep an eye on as well.
Has Ben Spencer seen the pitch for TFCII yet?
I really like the set up of TFC 2 because it's entirely built on youth and potential and not experience. I think everyone in that team has the potential to go on and have a good career.
Bouchard looks like a good ball playing CB, still only 19.
Thomas is a beast and I can see him getting a contract next year. His presence alone has stabilized the backline over the last couple of games.
Uccello can be the next great attacking mid. Crazy that he's still 17.
Mannella has proven himself to be most MLS ready.
Kaye looks comfortable at LB and it looks like his best position. He was moved around (CM,LW,ST) a lot in the beginning.
Terry Dunfield helping Jason Bent out with TFCII. Wonder if they would use him as a player/coach during pan am games since they are missing so many players.
