I felt the Julio Ceasar PR stunt was a real set back for Bendik's confidence. We'll see how he does this season - but it was marketing running the club and IMO contributed to the fiasco that we ended with.

I think we should keep in mind what those players we love are doing in comparison league-wide, for sure, but sometimes supporters are attracted to players trying to make that jump in level.

I'd agree Bendik played best when he was fighting for Frei's position. Whether it will work the other way around we shall see.

Interesting pick, what a well traveled journey he has been on since high school, 3 colleges and some lower division stops in Europe.

Canadian jordan murrel picked by Real Salt Lake...

Was hoping we picked him considering the lack of RB options we currently have.

I still do not know how he did not have home grown status with the Reds considering Jay Chapman did.

Home grown rules seems like you claim who you want, when you want.
Seems like TFC did not want him.

Safe to assume these guys will go to our USL team?

Edit: With our last pick we get Tyler Engel from North Carolina (the pick we got from trading Jeremy Hall)

    He's a left back, no?

Also he is currently in Europe trying out with teams so no guarantee he plays in MLS.

Really like what Portland, Seattle & TFC did w/day 2 picks.

    On Bernal
"Bernal is a crafty attacking player who can beat you with his passing abilities, off the dribble, and can serve as a release valve under heavy pressure. He’s also only 5-foot-7, so he’s very much a system player. If you like playing with the ball on the ground, he’s your guy."

potentially....considering we just drafted 4 forwards to 6 forwards we have on the first team. I can't imagine all these guys will get signed, unless we are not planning on letting some academy players play USLpro games....i.e. Mark Anthony-kaye

I dunno... A couple of these guys look like such flyers, it almost suggests they're bringing along some make-weights for the TFC2 team, to push the confidence of actual prospects.

Seeing as I really wanted Murrell back here, I do hope he gets signed in Europe and that's why we didn't pick him.

Looks like a similar strategy to picking Lovitz last year. Go for the small, skill guys and hope one of them pans out. Might as well swing for the fences when the odds of getting anything of value are so low.

Yup. Maybe we'll find the next Chris Wondolowski.

Interesting tidbit on Sal Bernal. Looks like he's a non-status individual who came to the States from Mexico when he was two - thus, teams were worried that he might count as an international. He looks great on youtube, and I hope coming to play here in Canada doesn't affect his citizenship application process.

Fairly certain that he counts as an individual regardless of immigration status in the USA........

Default When I dipt into the future far as human eye could see - TFC @ The SuperDraft Jan 14

So, the draft is coming up soon and its time to be asking whether we can find ourselves another Kyle Bekker.
