Generally yes but this year the vast majority of the GA class are internationals so the international spot thing kinda goes out the window.

There is only one yank GA so far, that's Tarbell. Rest are English, Ghanaian, German, Jamaican and Canadian.

I wonder if they might go for a DM in the draft, like Todd Wharton, or a winger like Jack Harrison?

Getting Hagglund and Lovitz where they fell was good business. Both later draft picks, both contributed as well as you'd expect.

Will there even be any GA's available that far down?

yes. The draft is insane and as much as people will tell you what's going to happen, no one has any idea. It's true more so in this league than in any other.

At the 9/10 spot? Yea there is a good chance there might be one or two GA's still available. Tarbell the GK probably will but he'd be of no interest to TFC.

He's seen as too small by MLS coaches. THey want to move him to DM because he can read the game.

Orlando might take a crack at Laryea, to pair him with Larin, who he played with at Sigma.

They're making a making a big deal about his height at 5'10. Farrell and Wynne are no different.

Delagrarza is like 5'6 and he won 3 championships at CB. Yaro will do fine if he can jump, which from what I've seen he can.

Both. He's been a CB the last two years, and really good there. I agree on the size thing, he's supposed to be a monster athlete, so I'm not sure it matters.

Ives had TFC picking GA Julian Buescher in the 9 spot in his latest big board today.

Yikes that analysis is pretty basic. From Toronto so obviously he'll go to Toronto (then down to TFCII for a couple years?)

I would wager Laryea didn't sign a GA to play in USL, otherwise he would have stayed at Akron another year. I'm looking at who's ahead of us and first impression is he'll get picked by RSL and if he's still around after Orlando will scoop him.

I would be surprised if we did. I don't think Sigma would put him into the draft unless they had some kind of security of knowing what team he was going to end up at. They knew Orlando was going to pick him well in advance of last year's draft, so I would wager whoever is interested in him ahead of us will likely hold onto their pick.

Laryea hasn't been property of sigma since he graduated high school. It was either go back to school or go to the draft. He chose the draft and got an agent.

I've worked with and around Sigma and trust me, they don't care where guys like Laryea end up in the draft. really doesn't effect them.

They get a FIFA-mandated development fee from the club that signs him; I believe it's mandatory these days, and a bunch of the U.S. clubs are currently being sued for not paying them.

But it would have to be for a fee would it not? North Missisauga got a cut of Henry's transfer fee because he was bought outright by another club. I'm not sure players entering MLS through the draft would be subject to the same set of rules. Even if they were Laryea signed his GA contract with the league, not any team. So the check would be coming from league HQ anyway. which club he ends up at is sort of irrelevant to sigma.

I think who pays is at the heart of the U.S. lawsuit, as neither are paying as things are.

is the USSF so cheap that they can't pay the minuscule fees to grassroots clubs we got our young players from? such a broken system. pro/rel cannot come soon enough to American Soccer.
