I just watched 20 seconds of this. Why is this even broadcast? And how much money have they wasted to organize an event? FIFA is so arrogant and self important. Not that I'm surprised.

Nothing special will happen, Blatter will be new/old president. Africa,Asia and CONCACAF are more then 50% ,plus Oceania he is safe.

Pretty astonishing to hear Blatter's speech. The guy is in it up to his eyeballs and he's yapping about being accountable and making changes. The entire organization needs to be disbanded and rebuilt.

Blatter gets the backing because he allowed the organization to create an environment to enrich those who run their federations. Why would all those people vote against the guy who has allowed for this to flourish? Prince Ali represents change (if it actually happens or not). Blatter represents the status quo. Those benefiting off the current model don't want change so Blatter will be back in.

209 votes at an old folks home for the blind would take far less time that this circus.

What a stupid process. Round 1 Blatter gets like 60% of the vote or something, but needs 2/3 to win outright. So they vote again, even though there's only 2 candidates, and he just needs more than 50%. FIFA really knows how to make things timewasting and idiotic.

Meh....its a sign of dissent I suppose. The guy, once again, promised not to stand in 4 years. Hope he doesn't last that long.

OMG. Watching paint dry would be more fun.

So do I understand this correctly. 206 good votes. Prince Ali got 74 votes and Blatter got 132 but Blatter has to have at least 140 something votes so they have to vote again. This could like waiting for the white smoke.

How were 3 votes not valid?? Since they are all there, just 3 countries decided not to vote?

I feel bad for the cameramen...they are really trying to avoid a single focused shot, but they can't find crap all...shocking

Probably protest votes, spoiled the ballot because they didn't want to vote for either candidate. Or they were from some banana republic dictatorship and really don't understand the concept of how to vote.

    Gong show.

If Blatter wins, do sponsors start pulling out, as this is evidence of "same old, same old"?

Blatter is still a target of the investigation - they just don't have enough yet to get a conviction. Give it a few years.

I gave the FBI the crucial documents that triggered yesterday's arrests. There will be more to come. Blatter is a target.

I think this will happen now. Not down the road.

Blatter is lawyer ,I'm sure he will find the way to stay out if jail for few years, makes me wonder if he is going to be in Canada next week for opening ceremony of WWC 2015.

There are no charges (yet), so he doesn't have to worry about extradition.

Apparently he makes sure he doesn't fly over US airspace. If there was an....unfortunate redirect....he would be held for questioning.

It just takes a little longer to reel in the big fish.
