freddy Adu to Toronto fc. Heard it hear first folks. This is completely my own conclusion. Article online states two MLS teams are vying for him to join them on trial. But, if I was Bez I would bring him in. Could have a lot of upside
No thanks.
We already got one veteran trying to reup his career in Findlay. Only one freaking project a year.
Worth watching:
Take aways
- Moore to be used as a hold up play forward, not as a find the gaps forward (i.e. replacing Altidore)
- Oduro was going down the depth chart based on his strengths
- Vanney thinks there is depth on the wings interested in new people but timing may not be right to bring in people
- Caldwell and Perquis as the preferred pairing
I'd agree; he was decent at Philly and has always been a solid contributor. Not a star player, but also not really reaching his potential. I don't see it as divisive if he's getting journeyman money and is humble about working with Bradley and Giovinco to improve. Look at some of his play for the U.S. Nats; it's clear he has MLS-level talent, at least. Plus, he can play in the hole and as a wide forward, so would be a perfect understudy/backup.
Then again, there's always the potential distraction. I sometimes think, though, that coaches move him because they can't "unlock" a potential greatness that isn't really there. He's just a decent second-div-type pro.
They could always structure the deal to be performance-based.
Adu? no thanks. he couldn't hack it in Serbian league. dude is just in a freefall. seems to have an ego problem too

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

Darren O'Dea with some nice things to say about the league.

I don't think anyone will base a defense on Gilberto based on his overall production last year (the numbers don't lie). It's the fact that many feel, based on his quality of play that he would do a lot better this year.
In Moore, you know what you are going to get, and that's it. Gilberto has the potential to do a lot better given another year. It's all moot though, and he's far from irreplaceable.
Well Milan just signed Destro off Roma and could be the last ball to drop to send Pazzini to Juve and Gio to TFC
I expect some annoucements soon, not sure exactly when but soon.

Hmm...defensive midfielder.
34 years old by the time we would see him in May.
(Cue retirement league - Old dudes from Europe...etc. etc. etc.)
Cheyrou was a serious stud a few years back.
Don't Cheyrou and Bradley play the exact same position? He sure used to at Marseille.
