I recall being rather impressed by Valbuena in Brazil. Not quite familiar with the others.
I remember Dzsudzsak being impressive from his time at PSV. I think Russian league stars would be good targets. There's some quality players there, there won't be a transfer fee if their Russian teams can't afford to pay them, and you know from the fact that they're playing in Russia that they'll come for the money

I'd look at Mauro Zarate at West Ham. He is unhappy and looks like he could be off in January. Was top scorer in the Argintine league last year. Could be played as a number 10.

By my recollection, the official word was we had not had the cap space anyways.
With the help of your link, and wiki, the guy we had was Alexei, the older brother of the CSKA player Roman, Portu must had in mind here though.
Didn't realize Valbuena left Marsaille... HE would be a great signing if the DP limit goes up.
Valbuena would be the perfect DP signing at CAM
He can be moved to either wing, he's not too old, not injury prone, quick, smart and an international player for a top team

TFC needs to get rid of Defoe first, then make their move in terms of DP signings. Most likely, much higher quality DP signing than Whitecaps.

If you trade an Oduro, Jackson or Defoe before you get a player to use up that cap space or DP slot, then you are getting maximum ROI. Otherwise, you end up doing a Laba like trade.
If we get anybody worth over $200K in cap space before one of those 3 go, I'd be surprised.
Based on Oduro's "nothing ever goes according to plan #life" tweet from a few days ago, I'd be surprised if he isn't gone already

What you consider Gilberto signing as? We can't afford to gamble on unknown players with DP slots, we need proven players especially since TFC are in desperate mode to win games now.
This is risky signing for Vancouver, but I believe they have one more DP slot left, so I assume they will sign more established player.
Laba, morales, this guy. They are done for dps unless more slots get added

I think he'd be an excellent pickup. I think he's a excellent winger - something that's increasingly rare not just in the MLS but in football in general.
I've read that Sacha Kljestan will be available at the right price during the upcoming european transfer window. If Defoe leaves as many think he might, what do you all think of bringing in Kljestan in as a CAM dp? plenty of experience playing against the top players and teams in the world and has some wonderful passing ability.
