“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

I heard that he'll be announced sometime in the next week. Thanks for getting the ball rolling, Og

Couldn't hurt to have him on the bench
I was just going to ask about DeRo too. He posted a photo of himself in front of a TFC backdrop on his Instagram account with the same caption earlier.
I think he still has something to offer, he didn't play much last year so physically would be a little more fresh as he does keep his body in good shape.
After all he's only about a year older than Pirlo, I know its different positions but he might feel rejuvenated from the rest.

Yeah I can see the ego issue, but all he has to do is look around and see Giovinco, Osorio and Bradley to an extent to see that he isn't better than them to start.
In any case I hope he stays with the club in any capacity, it would be shame for him to not be a part of this organization going forward.
I'm sorry, but DeRo was completely useless for TFC this past season. He was slow, like really slow. I think if DeRo wants to play (and I think he's completely capable of it), he needs to come into camp in top shape.
He can be their swag coach. Teach them his marquee moves - the inside-outside step over, sky shot, shake and bake and the ever polarizing 'where's my money'?
I don't know if DeRo would post that instagram on twitter if he had accepted a role with our USL club. I think he could likely end up as an assistant coach for us at that level, but for the time being, I'd be surprised if he wasn't signed with the big club as an offensive sub.
Even though he's lost a step or two, he can still create opportunities for himself and his teammates if he's utilized effectively in a limited role off the bench.
A leader off the bench, can show the kids what it takes to be a pro especially on the training pitch and someone who bleeds Red. With 30 roster spots he should one of them and make this season a celebration and how fitting would it be for his final game at BMO to be one in the post-season.

Update 2/10: Vasco and Toronto FC working on a loan deal after Gilberto's training with the Brazilian club has ended today. There are rumors swirling that TFC received a trade offer from Montreal for Gilberto, but Gilberto did not want to see the move happen and wants to remain with Vasco. The loan deal should be done by Friday at the very latest.
