I can't tell if you guys are being serious or not. You seriously think this will make Canadian football development worse? Like it was doing so well before we wouldn't want to upset anything.

First of all, the kids still know who won. They don't need a scorekeeper to count by one. This needs to be reinforced for people who are against the change.

The idea behind eliminating scores/standings is to go away from the previous mentality of clubs to chase meaningless trophies by only playing the biggest/fastest players. That wins games in the short term but it doesn't develop football skills. Case in point, our national team. We have a huge soccer participation rate but how many technically skilled players have we produced in the last 30 years?

The winning at all costs mentality might seem like a good idea but too often it comes at the expense of teaching football. Oh and by the way it's gotten us nowhere on the national level. At a young age especially, kids should be focusing on developing their technical skills and enjoying the game. Parents and coaches obsessed with winning the U-8 championship is what's ruining our development pathway.
