Default Matchday 32: Toronto at New York - Sat Oct 11 7pm TSN4

Do or die. TFC must win this game to have any realistic chances of making the playoffs. (and hope for Philly to pound Columbus)

NY has not lost in Red Bull Arena in 9 games or something, and losing some guys to int call ups. Though Cahill has been a non factor this season. NY also has Peguy Luyindula suspended, who has been playing the #10 role.
NY defence is somewhat weak, with 2 CBs that are physical, but prone to bonehead mistakes. Think more experienced and better versions of Doneil Henrys. And GK Robles puts on a Jekyl and Hyde act. One moment of brilliance, combined with some terrible gaffs.
Stop Thierry Henry at all cost. Whoever is playing RB has to be really switched on as Henry likes to drift left and cut in. Any miscommunication in defence will leave Henry exploiting the space and he's deadly as a playmaker this season, as well scoring some key goals. Stop Henry, and Bradley Wright-Phillips has shitload of goals, but he needs like 3 good chances to put 1 away.
Pound NYRB midfield, which is weaker than TFC mid, and pray that Defoe doesn't miss sitters.

    Come on you Reds

Crevalle had a private training session at half time on Wednesday. Not sure he's ready to go.

This match will be the defining moment as far as character on this squad. We'll see who really wants to be there.
I'm going to have to watch this one recorded late Saturday night, so, no internet etc for me until after I've viewed it.
I refuse to give up as long as there is a chance!!!

    Great!

I wonder if Vanney is going to stick with usual 4-4-2 or try something different and more offensive minded approach to this game.

expect 4-4-2. too late to tinker with any other formation this late in the season. you need time to learn a new formation, esp after a short turnaround since wed

Well if they both play, a free kick on the edge of the box will be interesting.

Funny, though, that moment you are referring to was probably the first one of the season that had me thinking "WTF is going on with this club"
Let's hope they can all just "man up" and get it done Saturday, without any of that.

FWIW, that was a 4-4-2 diamond on Wednesday.

No more games in hand . . .
    Only three games left . . .
If the players are NOT up for this match, what can we say?

    some intriguing facts
-NYRB is unbeaten in 9 at home and have won last 6 at Red Bull Arena.
-TFC has 1 win, 1 draw vs NYRB this season.
-all 3 TFC strikers, Gilberto, Defoe and Moore have scored against NYRB this season, with Defoe scoring a goal in each of the game vs NY.

People. Please stop saying "must win." We don't want any player getting all agitated before the match.

This might explain why Bekker decline CMNT call up! Also, seems like Vanney thinks highly of Bekker which is interesting.
