The two comments on the story thus far are quite amusing.

From what I read we have BMO next year too then nothing. I am expecting Rogers or Bell as the front runners but Kia may be a dark horse.

Bottom line: pressure now on TFC to win and make the playoffs as actual tangible (to the suits) money is on the table. Only stuff like this can make the fat cats in MLSE HQ care about the trials and tribulations of those of us mired in TFC land.

Sounds like its up at the end of this season by this quote:

Put simply, it’s not the best time for the club to secure a new sponsor for its jersey. But BMO’s contract as jersey sponsor expires after the season and the bank has decided not to renew, so now is the only time.

BMO is still sponsoring the field and staying with the team, just loosing the shirts.

We all know some of the issues/animosity that exists between Bell and Rogers in the MLSE boardroom, so would be very interesting to see how it was hashed out if either of them became the jersey sponsor. Wonder how much time is left on the stadium name deal for BMO?

Will be getting a Blakc Onyx for sure this year.

with Rogers and Bell owning an equal stake, how would that work?

    Kia makes some sense.

and Bell is already on the ShiteCaps. But I guess BMO was on 2 of the 3 canadian teams.

just don't be a lame sponsor...like Bimbo Bread.

The article hints as the new possible sponsor being one with an existing tie to the club, it narrows the selection pretty fast there.

Bell do the National team sponsorship too. It is an emerging market for Rogers to edgle into, Kia have a tradition of soccer investment.

No matter what, owners or not, its something to be bid on and not awarded.

Nothing against BMO, but I can't wait to get the Montreal crap off my team gear.

I can see the headline now....."Last minute jersey talks fall apart, Toronto FC to skip 2015 season while owners determine course of action"

    I'm partly serious.

    Diamond and Diamond.

Prob will be Kia, can't look worse than that hideous Chevy sign plastered on Man U's shirts.

LOL...an ambulance chasing attorney firm. That would be great.
the only thing worse would be the "CashMan"

I get that it's bid on.
but still...big time rivals...bidding against each other? paying each other? seems awkward.

I'd bet it is Kia. They have already gone "All-in" with the Team.

    It's hard to imagine Bell.

With BMO sponsoring the Limpact's jersey, I can see why they've pulled the plug on TFC.

Let's hope we haven't fallen to the point that "Russel Oliver" or "Harold the Jewlery Buyer" sponsor the team LOL...

KIA looks good... Budweiser have a big presence - does the league allow alcohol sponsorship?

Well, Budweiser is a league sponsor, so it would be pretty hipocritical of them to deny the opportunity to have Bud as a kit sponsor.

a few league sponsors are also kit sponsors.

so i guess anyone of those could be possible.

    Etihad?
    Windows?
    could be interesting.

Etihad will be the NYCFC shirt sponsor, so we can rule that one out.

I hope a local beer steps up or something - lets get Steam Whistle on the front of our shirts!

Never liked that BMO sponsored us and the Limpact at the same time.

Won't miss BMO's presence. Could never understand how a Toronto sports team could wear a sponsor logo hyping Montreal. Money uber alles, of course, in which case TD Bank would make more sense aesthetically.

Subway Sandwiches have been growing a presence in sports, emerging in hockey and NASCAR. This would be a good placement for them (cue jokes about our normal place in standings). Assuming Mr. Greek turns down right of first refusal.

Not surprising. They pay a lot of money (I believe $4 million a year which is at or near the top in the league) and it's hard the justify the returns.

I just hope the new sponsor doesn't have an ugly logo.
