Who is Simon, the man who brought us TFC supporters together for the first time?

I was thinking about our history and all and it got me thinking who is Simon? The British man who brought TFC supporters together for the first time with a message board.

Toronto-FC.com was the original message board. Simon was the creater/moderator but disappeared sometime in Nov/Dec 2006 and there was no moderation so it was eventually flooded by porn.
I started a board on ExcoBoards.com on Dec 26 2006 and everyone jumped ship.
Then in 2008, the RPB collectively started the board you're using now.

To answer your question, Simon was a guy from the UK who started the Toronto-FC.com board.
No clue of who he was or his whereabouts.

I came in just after the first banner painting and that photo parky took by climbing on top of the food building.

I remember the board migrations.
if you needed cheap Viagra/Cialis, the original board was the place to go.

we should do more to document our history.
it's actually kind of funny/interesting.
the various hacks (furry-gate, etc)

the first meeting at Joe's...i think C_B and Damien were expecting like a dozen, and way more showed up.

there was that massive meeting upstairs at the Rhino when we confirmed C_B as prez.

the first 2 dudes i met at my first meeting were James17930 and Norb.

Yeh,stumbled onto RPB early in the 2007 season, when I was looking for tickets and ended up buy a bunch of pairs in the south end from a member on the exchange. Started going to the tail gates run by Hal, Pat and company and Joe's.

Heard about the original board but the time I visited it was long abandoned and ravaged by spam.

The old board? That brings back memories. I remember our first ever meeting at The Overdraught on Front Street. Good times. I think the old regular user group was about twenty of so people. Simon was the man who really deserves a lot of praise for giving us our first place to hang around online and talk about the team.



Anyone remember this photo? This is probably one of the first group photos of us hanging outside a half-built BMO Field.

I don't know where Simon is or what he's doing now, but I like to think of him as our version of Jonathan Smith from the show Highway to Heaven. He was sent on a mission to help kick-start a TFC Supporter Group. And with that task complete, he disappears into the night...

Was the viewing party for the inaugural game at Chivas at the Elephant and Castle on King and Simcoe?
