De Rosario put a great display on today, put in a 100% effort. The only other player I saw that from today was Hagguland. Not sure how Bradley was MOTM.

The only way we pull some results from here on out is with a Osorio-Bradley CM partnership and Caldwell commanding the backline.
Dero was on the field for 70 minutes I guess.

    this season is done.
We are losing all these 6-pointers. Its like were in quicksand and most of the remain games are 6-pointers.

Unless Defoe really wants to comeback and weave is magic ... were toast.

Sad day when understanding MLS' idiotic rules are considered more important than organizing a football team.

Here's Vanney on the game and what they're working on. I rather like his comments.

That was the most cogent sounding tactical discussion from an TFC coach in a looooong time.

Class act today and someone giving it his all yet keeping his head in the game . Thats the main problem we have some dumbass (soccer wise) players .

I feel slightly better after that video. Vanney doesn't sound like complete idiot.

His comments are true. TFC is built to play only on a counter. The timing of him becoming the manager is unfortunate because a game 3 days after him being hired is a tough spot for any manager.

I'll reserve my judgement for now, because I don't know for sure whether Vanney is clueless tactically or the players just aren't executing his instructions properly. But not getting at least a draw vs Chicago will put him under severe pressure to perform. And hopefully we get at least Caldwell back

Weird match today. The sad thing was it looked like the players were actually trying. Actually that's a good thing because they certainly weren't against New England. It was just sad to see that today. I'm not even mad at the players cuz I think they wanted to win but nothing was working.

Bez fired the coach because apparently this team is better, and has "more in it' than Nelson was capable of bringing out. *sigh*
Well good he's on record. If they put this thing in the tank it pretty much sums up his ability to grade and scout players. They tank, he goes. And Vanney would go with him I'd assume if a new guy comes in.

Defoe all but gone. Aging DeRo. A defensive overhaul needed.

Yep, year 8 and looking at a reset again.

jloome, every manager before Winter was "experienced". They were also bad at it, but the club has had people who've done the job before in charge.

Prior to Winter, the only head coach we'd ever had who had been a head coach before was Preki. Mo, Carver, Cummins, Daso, Nelsen, Vanney, Mariner, Winter.

None of them had been head coaches before, unless you're counting Mo's few games in charge of Red Bulls as a caretaker.

At the game and was gutted, no flow, no sense of anything...watched Vanney's presser...have no opinion on his coaching but I will say this at least he pointed out flaws, admitted there are issues as opposed to Nelson's played hard, gave effort BS...don't know if Vanney's can fix it...but that was a wretched game to sit through

Only a point out with 8 games to go. It could be worse given how poorly we have been playing. We were disorganized sure, but also unlucky. Bendik was sharp on a number of shots. What a crack that was by Bradley. Gilberto and Dero had lots of energy. Dero needs to start the rest of the way.

The weather was pleasant. The pitch looked sharp. The beer tasted good.

Also it was great seeing Mo Edu back at BMO. That distinctive loping stride out there, it doesn't come across the same way on TV. He had a nice game too. What a player.

I agree, nice to see Mo playing in person again, had the chance to catch up with him before the game. Will always have a place in TFC supporters hearts.

Now we're faced with a team that still can't create with a possesion based attack because they aren't built for that. They are built as a counterattack team, but everyone knows that now so we're stuck hoofing it.

Absolute idiocy to switch coaching at this point in the year.
What I had hoped to say. Terrific.

last 7 games skc 5 losses, 1 tie and 1 win.

    july 31 1.80ppg through 21 games
    since august 1 0.57ppg through 7 games

    explain that??

tfc needs all it's starting players to come back from injury, if this happens they are slightly above average team, missing 4 starters they stink

Nelsen could and would not get this team to the playoffs.

Parse out the last bit of the season however you want, but we were found out tactically back in June and the playoff hungry teams have figured out how they can get points form us with what they have.

With Nelsen in charge, we would be in the same position right now, just with a different version of the crisis spiral happenng.

Vanny HAS to change that if we have even a hope of getting into the playoffs. Even if he does, I don't think we will because our defence play as a team just isn't good enough.
