    Default NYRB away October 11th

    Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone was thinking of making this trip? As it stands, it could be quite an important game. I'm thinking of doing it enroute to Europe for a bit of a Bundesliga tour.

Trying to get a feel for numbers

I'm going and bringing 3 others. The Denver Broncos and Leafs are both playing in New York (or Jersey) the next day, so it should be a pretty awesome weekend for a sports roadtrip.

Phil said that there is no RPB trip given the timing (Canadian Thanksgiving) so I have no idea if others were going. My friends and I were debating whether to sit in the designed away section (220) or just buy better tickets if no one else is joining, so this thread will help push that decision one way or another. Anyone else in?

Great, well as a heads up, the Element Harrison Hotel is right next to door to Red Bull arena. Rooms are $150 a night

I am going myself, just bought tickets as it's a pain in the ass to buy official away supporter tickets through RBNY as they only seem to want to sell if it's an official group buy. I am going to the US Ecuador match the nigh before which will be Landon Donovan's final international match. Have to fly home early Sunday morning for thanksgiving dinner.

I happen to be in NYC on a short vacation with my girlfriend and will be attending. I will also be proposing to her the night before ... hopefully that makes it ok for me to force her to go to a football game

How does purchasing tickets in the away end work?

Maybe propose at the game, that way if she ever gives you a hard time about going to any future game you can tell her you just want to relive the best day of your life-she won't be able to argue against that

Haha, or she might just say no even though she knows we plan to do this in NYC. She hasn't forgiven me for making her go home alone during the first half of a TFC game when she felt ill.

Well in your defence TFC games have a tendency to make people feel ill and most tough it out until the end...

Congrats, hope you have a great time

Just wanted to bump this thread in hopes that someone knew how I could get seats in the away section? Do we know which section is away so that I can just get htem on ticketmaster or do I need to call someone?

The away supporters section is 220. You have to call the Red Bulls directly.

Thanks. I gave them a call and they kept telling me I needed some code I could obtain from a TFC supporters group. Anyone care to share the code with me?

The RPB aren't handling Tix or organizing anything for this game.

We’ve been told that TFC fans should contact DJ directly to book for the game.
    Here is his information:

Honestly, New York had does this before, one of the more frustrating teams to deal with, you call up and ask for away supporter tickets they tell you only a supporters group can buy them, maybe The group could handle a very small ticket order just get around this issue.

I think in the future we have to figure out a way to handle away tickets in the future as some MLS teams are not very easy to deal with.

I contacted someone at TFC, they called NYRB, said how TFC supporters were getting the run-around.
they said that DJ will take all TFC supporter calls and get them the tickets they need.

Timbers Army handles all the away game tickets through their website, and you order them there. Makes it easy.

Thanks to Red CB and Wagner for all the help. DJ transferred me to someone else and I was able to get tickets. Apparently I was the first to buy tickets in the section, so I hope others will be joining.

Too bad. After getting the run around from the NY ticket line and getting the sense that there were no other supporters from TFC attending, I bought tickets elsewhere in the stadium. If there turns out to be a reasonable group in that section, I can look into seeing whether we can have our tickets switched (and/or we can probably just join you guys there).

Yeah, if I don't hear back from this NYRB guy, I'm just going to buy a ticket in that end of the stadium and make my way across

Don't know if it would be helpful but that DJ guy referred me to Christine. Her contact info is:
    christine.stasiuk@newyorkredbulls.com
    973-776-8872

Worth a shot if you have trouble getting through.

Speak to Christine, she was very helpful. She'll be able to move your tickets hopefully. When I spoke to her, she suggested there will be a few TFC fans there, as well as friends and family of the players.

973-776-8872 is a good number to call

I'd be interested in making this trip. Hows everyone getting down there, driving? Flying?

Considered driving, but will be flying as we want to make the most of the three days we'll be there. Always loved visiting NYC.

Anyone still needing tickets, call Jaime Donovan-Malley - 973-776-8957, and tell her Mike Sweeney sent you.

Gathering up in 220 of the stadium isn't a problem if tickets were purchased elsewhere.
