him being a ex CB they should at least better on d,the same mistakes all the time, they hv 2 or 3 import slots open, they should at least try to bring in a vet in,bad cap management.
I am very amused by our defensive specialist head coach who probably has the worst clean sheet conversion rate over the last two years, not to mention pathetic isolated incidents like last night, completely folding at home to the most hopeless attacking team in the league.
edit:tbh I actually think Nelsen has this team working very well in the middle of the field, they are just so bad 30 yards from either goal.

Perspective: we need 1(!) goal over our next two games to be equal to SKC's amount of goals. A team that everyone thinks is so much obviously more evolved and cultured and attacking minded. we're a pretty good, consistent attacking team. our problem ATM is definitely lapses in defence and concentration.
Also, if we can win our 2 games at hand on SKC, we'll be just 3 points back of them.
Years have gone by and Ive finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: A pretty move, for the love of God.
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I dont give a damn which team or country performs it.
-Eduardo Galeano
I was going to say, nobody has mentioned Silva but we gave away yet another asset in that trade.
I'll actually take my original statement back. There domestic core isn't necessarily better, but it's pretty damn good, which I don't think people are realizing. Hamid, Bimbaum, Kitchen, DeLeon, Silva are more than enough to build around for the future.
yes he was..but DC had a good year before that,i would take 2 out 3 years at the top of the div wouldn't you?
meanwhile we make the same bloody mistakes every game, bendik may be the worse keeper in the league this season.
You don't watch a lot of MLS then. Tally Hall,Luis robles, Zac McMath, Clint Irwin, Eric Kronberg, Jaime penedo are all equal or worse than Bendik this season. Bendik might not make a lot of show-stopping saves or have the best distribution but all of those keeper listed above I've seen on numerous occasions actively making mistakes and conceding goals that would otherwise have been dealt with with ease by a keeper with proper concentration and decision making.
I might be missing some too. Bendik is league average.
Bendik has been pretty mediocre, I agree, but Sean Johnson Saturday night was downright horrible. At one point he punched a floating ball that was easily catchable, and going out, back into danger. I was expecting him to start volleyball style bumping balls coming down to his knees. He was ripe to be picked apart and we let him off the hook.
Bullshit on a 1/3 of the cap. They have Champions League and Wooden Spoon fake money this year and ended up with the highest cap wage.
DC Arnaud Davy M $ 212,500.00 $ 212,500.00
DC Boswell Bobby D $ 231,000.00 $ 231,000.00
DC Fernandez Christian D $ 170,000.00 $ 181,687.50
DC Franklin Sean D $ 275,000.00 $ 298,333.33
DC Johnson Eddie F $ 505,000.00 $ 613,333.33 (335k)
DC Kitchen Perry D $ 143,500.00 $ 228,950.00
DC Parke Jeff D $ 215,000.00 $ 226,500.00
DC Pontius Chris M-F $ 350,000.00 $ 381,000.00
DC Rolfe Chris F $ 210,000.00 $ 225,000.00
That's 2.32 mill on those players only.
Add in:
DC Hamid Bill GK $ 100,000.00 $ 114,750.00
DC Espindola Fabian F $ 150,000.00 $ 150,000.00
DC Korb Chris D $ 90,000.00 $ 97,298.33
DC Silva Luis M $ 99,440.00 $ 134,440.00
DC Neal Lewis M $ 100,000.00 $ 106,440.63
DC DeLeon Nick M $ 85,690.00 $ 120,690.00
Meaning 3.1 mill on 15 of the 20 cap-able players.
Who knows what the next CBA contracts will look like next year but if they are no major changes, DC's current squad would be unsustainable.

What are you watching? No disrespect to the main point, but Luis Robles is New York's best player this season, and NY fans will confirm that. Even Henry has said he's been keeping them in games. McMath isn't a starter anymore and when he was he was Philly's best player save Nogueira. Clint Irwin is a future U.S. team number one stuck on an undisciplined team; Kronberg is injured but was playing really well before he went down. Penedo is having a decent year.
I kinda feel you just pulled names out of a hat there, man.
Which isn't to say Bendik is having a bad year, because he's made two egregious mistakes all year. That's not bad halfway through a season.
I am not a Bednik fan, but LAG won a cup with Josh Sauders of all people between the pipes. So really, if we are upgrading I'd look somewhere else first, at least until we see the next CBA. GK and LB/RB might no longer be budget positions.
really fun game to be at, should of had one more goal in the 1st half while we were dominating. Also, shout to RPB for bringing it, you guys were super loud and SG114 (I think) for their nice TIFO, it looked great from my vantage point.
Robles has been....inconsistent. No thanks.
Considering how they are playing, I think Pontius is the obvious man out followed by Arnaud if he doesn't take a big pay cut. That gets them to where they need to be alone without much impact on quality. Personally, I'd be shocked if the cap isn't going up significantly next year. The teams are already positioning themselves as if they expect that to be the case.
Those last 6 contracts you listed are among the best values in MLS.
I think the development of Henry, Haglund and Osario have been the brightest spots this season. I give credit for the two very young CB's to Nelsen. They will only get better and better and could develop into a very strong core for the future.
I think the Ceasar loan was box office - but I think it might have backfired in the development of Bendik this season... He has a late start to the season and hasn't found form at the most critical stage of the season. A partial season loan is a bad idea no matter how good the player.
