Massive game that we need a result to stay in the playoff race. If Crew played the same way they have in beginning of the season, then TFC just needs to pack middle of the field and force them to cross the ball. It seem like this game plan worked last time we played against them.

Massive indeed. A win for either team will be huge in the standings.

Going to need a DM to handle Higuain. Warner it will be.

I think our speed can kill them, and Oduro will be motivated as heck.

    Still concerned about the defence.

That and in the back of my mind, I'm wondering when Bradley gets his 5th yellow and is out for a game.

I am usually in the Osorio over Warner camp, but playing against Higuain I agree Warner is needed.

Osorio on the wing over jackson is what I would like to see again. Either that or a 4-5-1

    Crevalle - Hagglund - Henry - Morrow
    Warner
    Oduro - Bradley - Osorio - Jackson
    Gilberto

Its not a must win I agree but it would be nice to pick up 3 points against teams that are below us and get some separation between us and the rest fighting for the last place off places.

We have to keep in that 3rd spot and not slip into that play in game.

    Can we define must win?

Is the consensus that nothing becomes a must win until very late in the season? If so, that is the kind of thinking that saw some in University panic at an essay deadline while others relaxed and collected their high marks having completed it well before it was due.

Points now matter later. 100% correlation to points earned in the regular season and qualifying for the playoffs.

This is a regular season game so go out and win it.

According to Bez nothing is a must win because we are in 3rd place in a weak conference.

Granted, finishing 5th in a 10 team conference should be a chip shot. However, I respectfully disagree with a nonchalant attitude towards dropping points. Particularly against teams in our conference.

Well it would be nice to win considering how shit we've been at home. Have to make up for that somehow.

I think that it would be best for us to win, I think it is better then losing or even drawing a game.

Also to win by as many goals as possible, without conceding any against.

wait....what? Winning is better than loosing? Ohhhhh, that explains what was bad about the last seven seasons. LOL

Hopefully we get the 3 points, we can certainly use them and Columbus isn't the winless away ground it once was for our team.

Every game is a must win, if you want to be a winner. Winning means you are better than the opposing team, winning also means you are a winner not a loser. I think that is what we want, correct.
So the gobble-de-gook out there that it is only a must win late in the season is comical. If teams to have the drive and desire to win, then they are losers. Just a few thoughts.
3-0 TFC, how about another clean sheet.

Would expect this lineup to be trotted out based on Montreal performance and injuries. I do like the addition of creativity with Oso over Jackson and think Warrener and Bradley provide enough coverage when Oso cuts inside for that 4-3-3 attacking look. Oduro keeps the speed factor without Jackson and seems to be more effective going forward. Lets go Gilbertron!

There is 14 games left. 8 at home and 6 on the road. All eight home games are against struggling teams, but because TFC is TFC, probably will drop a game or two. Of the six away, two are super tough (SKC and LA), one is tough (RBNY). Chicago is terrible but TFC's record at TP is poor, so likely draw. That leaves Columbus and Philly as the best hope to get road points, which we will need.

That's a good synopsis. 7 wins (50 points) pretty much guarantees a playoff spot, although 45 points will likely be all that is needed. Would love to at least hit 50 though. This is definitely one we need to win to do that.

4th hosts 5th in a one-off game. Winner plays 1st in a two game series. 2nd and 3rd also play a two gamer.

4th vs 5th is 1 game only. then 2 games for all playoff. higher seed get the 2nd leg home game.
of course Final is 1 game only. Higher seed got the home advantage.

Can get 50 I think. Probably would need a bit more like 55 or 56 to get a better playoff slot.

50 points was just enough to make it last year in the east (and not enough in the west). I would think similar this year.
