Crap second half, but hey it's a point.

Henry player of the game IMO. He cleaned up a lot of shit back there.

Definition of dropped points. Gifted them a goal and missed a penalty. Bah.

Need to get back to winning ways.

Good game to watch you can tell though the heat got to the players near the end. and in TFC's case 3 games in 7 days probably tired them out, but I can accept a draw. Too bad about the missed penalty but that happens . The Defoe yellow was complete B.S. Next week SKC is in town lets prepare for that.

We ran out of gas late in the second half. Understandable considering the humidity and recent fixture congestion.

Otherwise, I thought we played a solid possession game through the first 70 minutes and created several good scoring chances as a result of some impressive passing sequences. That aspect of our game has been steadily improving as of late, and it's encouraging.

It sucks that Defoe got the yellow card, but Gilberto is hopefully rounding into form now, so he should be able to step in and fill the void against SKC.

Horst deserved a yellow. If you PVR it, Defoe looks to club him in the back of the head before the elbow… either or both deserved yellows IMO.

Trying to figure out why Bradley took the penalty. If Defoe was on, would he take it over the striker?

Has Bradley ever scored or taken a penalty kick in his career?

Kind ogf reminds me of last year I was at a Montreal v Boston Hockey game and Lars Eller of Montreal was trying to get the puck off of Zdeno Chara who is about 6 ' 8" and with Skates 7' while Eller is maybe 6'0 he stuck his arm out and Chara fell down like he got shot. Penalty to Eller.

The offence is rounding out. Gilberto is starting to find his footing. We are getting goals from the midfield. We are never out of a game. Lots to be positive about. But Defence is inconsistent. We have to stop the one dumb goal we give up per game. This is turning 3 points into 1. We have lost our shape lately in midfield we are not compressed enough between back four and mid.

the 'D' was fine . it was the unexpected more senior Cb Orr (as well as Bendik) that stunk it up . hopefully that never happens again .

I think the team lost cohesion when Gilberto came off. It seemed a bit of a strange sequence of changes to take off Gilberto instead of Moore for Defoe, only to take off Moore for Dwayne to seemingly fill Gilberto's role. Moore for Defoe, I think, would have kept the team linked and the pressure up. But I'm sure there's more to it as there usually is.

It's a good point on the road in a hard away fixture that could have been a really good three.

    Other notes:

Hagglund filled in well for Bloom and even played some good balls into the midfielders that you don't see Mark often make.
Orr will tell you himself, he was slightly off his game.
We played like the home side at times and had good spells of positive pressure. (impressive given the heat and fixture congestion)
Could the Defoe suspension be a blessing in disguise? I want to see more of this Gilberto/Moore partnership.
That Houston pitch plays like BMO 1.0
    Bendik saves.
    Sportsnet sucks. (but they try)

D was fine. The gap control in front of the D by the central mids continues to be a problem.

Guys were gassed and we were 2nd to most balls out there. Attacking subs were interesting, but sometimes you need someone to shore up a tired midfield and simply cover ground.

Sucks we're gonna lose Defoe, that SKC game is huge. Ref gave the yellow more for Horst's reaction than anything.

I meant in the context of within regular or extra time, a penalty in the box, one shot, and he takes it over the strikers.

4 other guys also took shots in that shoutout.

Four points from our two games with Houston - would have preferred six, but I'll take it.

gotta say i agree whole heartedly. Love the dude but hes best off the bench with Warner and Bradley there. Lovitz as of right now imo one of the few players on the team that can make a decent cross. I understand hes a youth and they want to ease him in but frankly we have few other options.

That definitely felt like dropped points. A very stupid defensive mistake and a missed penalty? What a waste. I have no idea why Bradley took that penalty kick instead of one of the strikers. I had a bad feeling as soon as I saw him grab the ball and I was right.

First time in our history we've had excellent SECONDARY scoring....If we can get 7-10 goals from Oduro, Gilberto, and Moore then we could go far, as defenses won't be able key just on Defoe...

I still don't get the Moore fascination. I'd start Gilberto over him every day of the week.

^Not really a fascination, but Moore has been producing right away while Gilberto gives all of us migraines

1 loss in our last 10 now. those are key points because we have a really tough schedule coming up after tottenham:

    Home Vs. SKC 7/26
    Away vs. DC United 7/30
    Away vs. Impact 8/2
    Away vs. The Krew 8/9
    Away vs. SKC 8/16

7-10 points from that would be excellent.

Hilarious! We need more options for Gilberto as it looks like he's going to start scoring for us from open play.
