    Default TFC Player Ratings

    http://www.whoscored.com/Teams/4186

Not sure if anyone follows this site, but I find it is quite an interesting tool to look at our players performances from a statistical perspective, as written in their website:

    "Ratings**
Player ratings are based on each event recorded in the game calculated live automatically using our own algorithms, which comprise of over 200 raw statistics. All events are valued based on a researched perception of the effect on the outcome of the match. Positive events are valued against negative events."

What I find quite interesting is that Doneil Henry is our highest rated player, followed by Defoe, Warner, Bradley and Moore. It's hard to argue against their stats especially looking at last nights games and the highest rated players for TFC, (1. Henry 2. Warner 3. Defoe).

Made me realize why so many people are so high on Henry. When he doesn't have a mental error he is playing extremely well for us. And he's only 21!!!

Interesting. And thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I feel somewhat vindicated because I had a hunch Warner was going to end up a good acquisition for us.

How is Henry our highest rated player?

Isnt there 3 games he directly cost us by giving up a penalty or a silly mistake? I dont think those rankings are quite accurate.

I think the argument could also be made that he's had some other extraordinarily good games lately, and even the games where he fucked up majorly, they were one off incidents and the rest of the game he would usually be pretty good. He also scores a lot for a defender. I'm surpiised he's that high up but you can't really argue the rest of the list, except that maybe Gilberto should be higher up despite the lack of goals.

Sure he has made some bad mistakes and those are the games that he had a bad rating in. What no one notices is that when he hasn't had those clear blunders (giving up a PK), he's had tremendous games so far this year.

I wonder what the rating of Howard was for the US game against Belgium? Oh look a perfect 10.

Also, just to put Henry's rating in perspective, it makes him the second best CB in the league behind Chad Marshall this year according to whoscored.

Was Bekker that horrible when he played? Not in my eyes. I'm sure you're taking into account the fact that Bekker's fewer appearances skew the results as well right?

Warner continues his strong performance, Gilberto finally gets a goal from open play (best goal celebration of the year), and Oso struggles out wide.. again. Although I'm glad he has the freedom to cut in.
