Default 2014 Voyageurs Cup final 2nd leg: Toronto at Montreal, Wed 4 June 730pm

1-1 aggregate going to the Cheese Factory.
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

I will be very pissed if I don't see the team that won on Sat out there...............saving people for what ???? there's a lull coming and I pay to see a competitive game if not a win . Rey no, Hall no , Morgan 1/2 a game only , Dero and Oso switch as Oso doesn't seem completely healthy , AND Defoe !! at least in second half . We saw a team that can win Sat with the right progressive coaching , lets get at it . Nelson has to !

Agree with some opinions here. Should be starting a full lineup. We have two weeks off after SJ on Saturday. No excuses. Go for the jugular.

Can wait on a bus in less then 24 hours to get to Montreal. Hopefully I'll be bring back some hardware with me.

We should start our best lineup, but there's no way Nelson starts Defoe after going 90 on Saturday with another league game this weekend.

I'm worried about our midfield, we might be starting Hall and Bekker. Montreal has the definite advantage with Bernadello, Bernier, Felipe, Mapp.

The Voyageurs Cup is only on the "nice to have" priority level for Nelson. Whereas it's all Montreal has left to play for. I'm nervous.

If we don't get this and Vancouver continues to thrive, we may not see CL action for quite some time.

TFC better not waive the white flag. Defoe better play, sub him after an hour, that's fine. He better see the pitch.

I can't imagine not seeing Dero play or likely start this game...

    Bendik
    Hagglund - Caldwell - Henry - Morrow
    Rey - Osorio - Dero - Lovitz
    Gilberto - Moore

Defoe comes in ~60th min if we need a goal replacing either Rey or Osorio (depending on who is playing better)

I think this would get the job done. I worry about Osorio - he still seems a bit fragile so Nelsen may not risk him. I say Dero gets his long awaited goal.

I don't see us starting without a defensive mid. Bekker starts, Osorio sits.

Hall will start - he's the only defensive mid we have who isn't injured.

    Bekker isn't a DM.

It is just a gut feeling, but I don't think TFC leadership wants this game and the CL schedule headache that comes with it. TFC have a back loaded schedule. They have 7 MLS games in July plus the Spurs friendly. Then 5 games a month for the remainder of the season. Check the Nelsen interview from yesterday. When asked about Montreal he responds with how big a game the San Jose game on Saturday is. Only when prompted about Bernier does he talk about Montreal and then he seems to be talking the Impact up to explain the future result. I think Toronto plays Weideman, Richter, Hall, Morgan, DeRo and possibly even Konopka. I think the on field effort will be there, but this one is not a priority.

^ but that would mean 3 months in a row of 6-8 games a month.

Hagglund would be all over that, but Defoe... Not so much.

Whenever the extra games arrive, they are still extra games that TFC might see as an obstacle to MLS playoff success. Post World Cup there will be a need to monitor Bradley. I suppose they could qualify and then play the B Squad 11.

Vancouver pretty much waived the white flag by not playing full strength against us in either semi.

Well keep in mind that next years Champions League is decided on Regular season finish. If we finish ahead of Vancouver we qualify as the ACC next year is later in the year. (well I suppose we have to finish a head of Montreal but I mean that isn't an issue) League games matter this year just as much as ACC.

We want to become a super club, then we better win every competitions like V-cup. I remember when Defoe first got here, he said he's here to win trophies. We won one trophy already, now we got an opportunity to win another trophy this year which most likely be only trophy we got a chance of winning this year.

Also remember that MLS rewards teams with allocation money if they make it to quarterfinals in CCL which I am sure we will need next year to sign players to fit into salary cap.
