So now the league season starts? The state tourney is over and he finishes with how many goals?
FORMER FULL TIME KOOL-AID DRINKER
9 goals in 13 games. League season starts this Sunday. Vasco will be fighting to avoid relegation most likely.

Maybe Larson can get "the most complete forward in MLS" a gig coaching strikers at Drake.
He's off the books of TFC as far as the cap and roster are concerned.
Maybe a Mexican team will take him, but I doubt he'll be kicking a ball in MLS again. Not at those wages anyway.
TFC have better put in some good clauses because if not were screwed, my best guess as to what happens is he gets loaned out to another team, he isn't going to want to sit for the rest of year.
I don't know if he is quite off the books, he still has another year from what I recall, if its an early termination by Vasco its good because they're most likely paying his wage, if they were allowed to send him back no questions asked then I think MLS might have to do us a favour because we cant have another DP, I just don't see Gilberto wanting to sit for the rest of they year.
I think that's a waste of resources to use that on Gilberto, he would only be worth it if he ripped up his contract and we got him for under 300K while also getting rid of Moore's and Findley's contracts.

He's gone. If Vasco want to not pay for him or have him play for them, he's their problem.
If he doesn't get another loan Gilberto or MLSE will either have to break his contract with TFC or have him sit out, not even on the sidelines. There's no way another MLS team takes him when he counts for a DP spot or requires in excess of $600k in allocation to buy him down. Just because we have him under contract doesn't mean we have to include him on the roster to the detriment of the team.
The Loan agreement is reported to be until the end of 2015. Anybody certain of Gilberto's contract length - 2 or 3 years?
BTW, given its Brazilian football, I would take much of what is said about who is going where, why this is being done and who is paying what with a box of Sifto.
if he's sent back then I'm sure MLS would be understanding enough and just require that he doesn't play and that he gets moved off the books by the end of the transfer window... But then again it is MLS
Or maybe this is because we need to recall him to trade him ... ?
Here's an idea. I'd take Gilberto back if he tore up his contract and signed a 2.5 year sub-$300k/yr deal. Findley would have to go to accommodate this, but if I were Gilberto I'd take it since he hasn't come out looking good in his last two gigs.
He hasn't scored since May and he's been left out of the team for a cup game. The coach says he isn't going anywhere and that he has stayed home to work on his fitness and his game. He's their highest paid player and the directors are not happy with his performance and the fact that he couldn't maintain the level at which he played for parts of the previous tournament. His agent is already sounding out options. He doesn't want to come back to Toronto, but would be ok with going to a US club. He can't go to another Brazilian club that has played in the same competitions as Vasco.

Toronto FC baby...best team everrrrrrrrrr -Jozy
Oh wow so he doesn't even want to be here? Maybe he should try the Chinese league, they seem to like over paying for Brazilians.

Well not after they shoved him out after a year, I guess.
Does anybody really care if he doesn't want to return here? he's by far the worst of our 4 recent DP strikers and he has more red cards than goals this season in Brazil. The problem is we could end up stuck with him because Vasco now doesn't want him and we can't fit him on our roster even if we wanted to. TFC is going to have to take a pretty decent sized loss to transfer him out somewhere.
China is a very good shout actually. The middle east too.
His agent was quoted in the Brazilian press today that he was exploring options in USA. So I guess they are gonna see what the trade market is like for him.
I hear MTL is looking for a striker. Id take a Ciman trade.
