When Tchani got a second yellow for doing that a couple years ago, Garber said that he didn't approve of the call - that the rule was designed to prevent time wasting, not genuine celebration with fans. The refs may have been given that guidance and not given a yellow accordingly.
The Tchani call still irks me to this day. The guy scored his first ever goal for our team and was thrown out for celebrating. Unreal.
With all things TFC at this point in the season - Gilberto is looking more the Hero than most on the team - kept his nose to the grind, finding his groove and looking to be working better with those around him - his workrate and results have risen over last 4-6 games
He's been our best DP signing in my opinion, all things considered.
Yes they definitely changed the rules after that. I've seen plenty of other players on other teams jump up to celebrate with the fans since then. As long as you get back on the field and let play restart fairly quickly, there won't be a problem.

Gilberto seems to love the schmoozing lifestyle in TO
I've been hard on Gilberto for his lack of work rate before, but he really has stepped up and is a 90min player now. Also probably most complete player on the team.

I just wish he spoke better English. I get the feeling he has a sense of humor and is probably a great interview in Portuguese. Anyone with evidence to the contrary, keep it to yourself. I want to continue my Gilberto idolization uninterrupted please!
I love this guy
So far, the best value tfc has for a dp.
Id get a Gilberto jersey but i dont want to jinx the poor guy and ruin his career
You just had to bring it up. Although 7-9 is a lot closer than I thought it'd be after the first 10 games of the season. Also 7 G / 4 A vs 9 G / 2 A, pretty similar impact for both players, although I still like Gilberto and if I had to choose between the two players would prefer him on TFC. I still don't see Urruti scoring 9 here this year.

Goalberto my legend His latest interview must've been published somewhere because it randomly has almost ten thousand hits on youtube hours later.
Too bad Gilberto and Defoe don't get along.
Gilberto, what else can you say, love what he brings to the pitch. Regardless of how the Defoe situation resolves itself the Reds will have this talented Latin goal scorer.
