gets me so pumped for tonight haha
thanks ben, good one!
I couldn't be more excited. You are very right in your prediction about the atmosphere tonight. It will be electric.
nicely written... now it's time to rock the place!!!!!
Right as rain (hopefully not tonight) Ben. another good read.
That was so much better than the 'pride and bragging rights are on the line' tripe from the news thread.
You are awesome Ben!
And tell Bob and Jim that nobody leaves for a piss during play.
As opposed to the Blue Jays who are taking the piss (out of the fans) throughout their games.
Did you ever read through a soccer history book, trying to imagine what those early days were like? The first FA Cup final? The opening match of the initial World Cup? Tonight, at BMO Field in Toronto, no one will have to imagine. This great beginning, this new history, will be right there on the soccer pitch – for everyone to see.
beautiful close to a nice piece
“What the world needs is more geniuses with humility; there are so few of us left.”
That just pumped me up!
We need more articles like this. I hope this was on the Globe's front page. Well done, Mr. Knight.
Its go time!
Carts...
"...Money wasn't tight, but it like, it wasn't right..."
It's history in the making tonight. Who knows when the next cup will be presented at BMO?
Same time next year?
Ill be interested to see how its scheduled next year. With the Canada Day match and the finale both being at BMO youve got to wonder if the schedule will be as slanted in our favour again.
A Canada day game at Saputo might only be exacerbating hostitlites between the Ontario and Quebec fansbases by throwing in the prospect of nationalism (i.e. Canada vs Quebec). Montreal-Vancouver would probably be a pretty safe Canada day match up though seeing as Caps supporters arent likely to make the trip. Ill bet next years finale is at BMO though. I hope anyway.
"Here we go, here we go, here we go! Here we go, here we go, here we gooo!!" Damn being in Moncton!!
AH well, I"ll be glued to my laptop watching tonight's match!
God damnit it Ben. Always with the inspirational pieces!
Finally someone who gets it. At times it only seems like people are interested in the here-and-now. Sure, the Canadian Championship only features three teams in total. And sure it was organised hastily in response to the new CONCACAF tourney.
But like Ben said, today could be the beginning of what could be a very historic and important addition to soccer in Canada.
Did the USA , of all countries, just fix soccer? - C. Ronaldo, May 27th commenting on the FBI-led investigations into fraud and corruption throughout FIFA.
^^ True, we were the last country to decide who would go tho the tourny this year.
