I thought what we did was post miscellaneous MLS news as individual threads in the TFC/MLS news forum.

I think what you could do is have a daily MLS news thread, and post links akin to how Denime does it for TFC.

I dunno. I don't have a problem for doing it this way, it just seems unnecessary.

Wow. That's big money for a MLS kit right now. And a design refresh to boot. Too bad they're locked in for a decade. If popularity escalates, I hope there is a buyout clause.

In comparison, LA Galaxy sponsorship extension with Herbalife was 10 yrs, 44 mil.

So for a small market team like RSL, 3 mil per year is good money

Like I mentioned in another thread this league has revenue coming in, therefore, there is no excuse for the lower end players only making 35 000 a year this needs to be looked at by the players union, just not right.

    New book about the Sounders:

    http://www.amazon.com/Sounders-FC-Au...ic+Masterpiece

From the description: It sounds like the start of a great joke: A minor-league sports executive, one of the richest men in the world, a stand-up comedian, and a Hollywood movie producer conspire to start a soccer team. But what Adrian Hanauer, Paul Allen, Drew Carey, and Joe Roth did when they started the Seattle Sounders FC was no joke. They meticulously planned the launch of the Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise with an eye toward some lofty goals. Then they stood back in amazement as they rocketed far beyond those goals..."

Well there you have it, second report of a club giving players food rations because of such minimal salaries. Next CBA is going to be ugly, the players are already chomping at the bit to get at the owners.

Thanks so much for that link. Terrible it's on BuzzFeed while daily reporters never do long-form journalism.

    really enjoyed this paragraph:

MLS’s salary cap is astoundingly low for a league with upwardly mobile aspirations, and as such, there isn’t that much money to go around. Of MLS’s nearly 500 players, 200 make $50,000 or less. When 40% of the league is composed of guys at this level, that’s going to make a difference on the field. While the DP rule will continue to attract big names like Donavan, Keane, Thierry Henry, and Clint Dempsey, the drop-off in quality on teams between the top two or three players and the rest of the squad can be harrowing. Ironically, MLS has begun to look like exactly what it set out to avoid becoming: the NASL.

    Kreis being wooed by NYFC:

That would be hard to compete against, but I would love to have Kreis managing TFC. I would heave Nelsen overboard in an instant if Kreis were available to us.
MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto

The mls article pointed out that transfer fees within mls are not allowed so yeah he's not right in the head if he's saying that.
