Well, as much as Koevermans was my favourite, considering he's still injured and just announced his retirement, it was for the best that we let him go.

Had a dream last night that Koevarmans started with Defoe.
    That would've been pretty.

That's really good news... maybe encourage some more Brazilians to come to the league one they see the product?

I am a little surprised there's no mention of Gilberto in the article. I know he's not on the national team, or viewed on the same level as Cesar, but considering he just transferred in from the Brazilian league, and had a pretty decent season last year, I thought ESPN would at least mention him.

John Carver on Defoe, TFC and Toronto
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

There is a signed DeRo jersey up for grabs at Joes tomorrow! All members are eligible for the draw!

And a 2014 Defoe jersey ( but this one isn't signed)!

I hope I win one so I can advocate to have it put up in the living room.

Which isn't actually the end game, but it makes for a super bargaining chip...

^Carver was far and away my favourite manager during the first 7 years. I have a feeling if he'd stuck around, we might not have had a 7 year playoff drought. Of course, as we all know, events off the pitch didn't allow for that.

JC is unlike anyone else. I would not be surprised to see him at the helm of a premier league side sooner than later. His passion and pride is what I respect, he wears it on his sleeve. I ran into him last summer and over a beers and pool realized what TFC missed out on when he left. To think it was Mo who brought him in, who would have thought it.
