I think I read that it was a minimum of 4 to Wilmington. WC in Brazil may also determine needs.

You can bet someone will be loaned to Wilmington during the World Cup break.

It is a minimum of 4, but the 4th won't be permanent like Roberts, Aparicio & Lovitz.

I asked some Rangers fans what they thought of Peralta since he was rumoured to be a target a few months back. Here's the responses:

Terrible. He's a liability in defense because he is brutal with respect to tackles. He's almost always on the verge of either a fight or a red card. He's shown very little in terms of attack as well. He's wanting out and will be gone in the summer.
Rubbish. Although not helped by being stuck out on the right wing.
He is mainly used as a sub, and I personally hope he has a good World Cup and we can sell him on for a decent profit.

    Shocking player.
If he's performing like that in the lower Scottish leagues, we dodged a bullet.

I'm a little perplexed as to why the Issey deal has still not been finalized... is it terms they are still ironing out? All signs pointed to a deal done, and ink drying...

TFC this year have been really strange with announcing their signings. Did they ever announce the Draft picks at all!?!? I just saw that Lovitz got assigned to Wilm, and that haggulund was on the Bench so....i'm not sure they are going crazy with announcements.

I am also a little puzzled why the Izzy deal is not done either. Maybe it is just money issues what else could it be

I'm happy it's taking this long. To me, it means TFC is actually negotiating on a good contract, not just signing players at whatever terms the player wants like previous regimes.

League office has always struck me as being under-manned at the best of times. MLS transfers seem to take way longer to clear than they should.

I'd guess that the officiating strike sucked up a lot of resources and they've been behind on paper work.

Fundamentally the process is the same. League signs off and then pays the player. If the deal wasn't to their liking they would send them back to the drawing board.

I didn't like previous regimes but all the flack they took for O'Dea and Eckersley contracts was overstated. The league approved them and ultimately paid them.

Yes, but the league will up the 3million salary cap regardless if it's on 18 players or 21 players. TFC is the one negotiating the deal, and are the ones that are ultimately responsible for their cap situation.

Also, O'Dea was always going to be approved after the Melburg cock block. I doubt this is happening with Issey though. Not sure what the hold up is but if he flew out to Seattle with them, I'm guessing it's just formalities.

    Luke Wileman@LukeWileman 4m
Former Columbus Crew DF/MF Danny O'Rourke is training with Toronto FC today #MLS

Good stuff here. We need depth and experience on our backline in case Caldwell gets an injury.

With Hall injured for now and Bradley leaving for the WC, O'Rourke being looked at is a logical move.

Interesting, he was almost a TFC player.

O'Rourke was selected in the 2006 MLS Expansion Draft by Toronto FC, but was almost immediately traded to the Columbus Crew along with William Hesmer for a partial allocation
Damn, looking at that 06 draft, we could have had:

    Chris Wondolowski
    Alan Gordon
    Ryan Johnson
    Clint Mathis
    Nick Rimando
Clarence Goodson (actually only recognize the name but don't know if he was any good)
    Stuart Holden

From what I've read, he's a defensive midfielder. Was a key part of some of the Crew's better teams but it appears he's lost his legs and the Crew didn't want to retain him on 175k salary.

Sounds like a warm body that might fill a need. Worth a shot, but doesn't sound like a long term solution.

Oughton connection at work. 5 yrs ago, O'Rourke was a very good defensive player to have. Mainly a DM, can play CB and fill in as RB on occasions, so good utility guy to have.
Problem is, he's been injury prone last couple of seasons.
IIRC he had a trial with Seattle in preseason and didn't stick for whatever reason, and Seattle can probably use some more depth. Dunno if O'Rourke wanted too much money.

What ever happened to Nate Jacqua? Apparently he's a free agent.

John Molinaro ‏@JohnMolinaro 13m Nelsen on Issey Nakajima: "We’re desperate to bring (him) in. I think if it's not done by the weekend, it will be done ASAP."

    John Molinaro ‏@JohnMolinaro 16m
Nelsen said Danny O’Rourke in town to train with #TFC next week. Hinted they'll make a decision of possibly signing him at end of stint.

Doesn't matter though. We're still going to beat DC United on Saturday 3/22 anyways. The shocking thing is that we're going find out the condition of that pitch. We're talking about playing iceball on an immovable natural carpet.

I don't think the flack for O'Dea's and Eckersley's contract was overstated at all.

Maybe it was the straw that broke the camels back.

And maybe that was the design.

Iceball? I don't think so, bmo field is heated and we will see a mudball, field will be soft and probably distroyed by the end of first half.
I do agree we'll beat DC and we'll find out how field will look like after every ARGOS game.
