I would read to much into it but I tweeted Kyle Porter this "@Doucet3: Hey @torontofc the next 416 boy we gotta bring home is the one an only @KylePorter19, would love to snap up a TFC porter kit" which he favored, again wouldn't read to much into this but could mean he'd be open to a switch
I'm quite close with a close family member of Porter's. What I've heard:
DeRo was his biggest supporter in DC and was a big part of getting Porter to DC.
Once DeRo left, his playing time went down.
DeRo has talked to him about coming to Toronto, and wants him here, and he wants to leave DC to get playing time and be closer to home.
Personally would love it, think he's quality, been following his career since Edmonton. Always pick him up in FIFA ... I'm not fan boy I actually do think he has skill and couple be a good addition. If what you say is true I'd be excited to see if DeRo can get something's in play on TFC and Kyles side
Porter is not good enough for MLS. NASL level at best

ok pace, seems to find channels from the flank leading to couple of goals. poor dribbling and erratic crossing. doesn't track back on defence. plays more like wide forward than a winger, suited more in a 4-3-3 than Nelsen style 4-4-2 that requires wingers to play defence. I don't think 2014 DC United is so good that Porter can't crack the lineup. If Benny Olsen doesn't rate him, and that guy will try just about anyone, he probably isn't good enough. IMO he's about good as Lovitz (and I don't rate Lovitz much). just my observation

I will say that TFC does need a winger on RM, esp since Oduro and Jackson pretty much is same type of winger. Need someone who can put in a good cross consistently

Kyle Porter has trailed with TFC at least three separate times and have never impressed the team enough to offer him a contract.
Tyler Pasher also trialing with TFC again. Interesting details here:

I was going to a lot of academy and reserve matches when Winter was in charge and always liked what I saw of Pasher. When Winter got sacked I think the club took a step back and held off on looking at academy players. I did't see much outside of a few highlights when Pasher played in Finland but he was moved from fullback to the wing and scored a lot of goals for his club. It was not a very high standard of football but considering he was a 19 year old from rural Ontario living on his own in a place like Finland it was hard not to be impressed with how well he was doing.
For those interested, Pasher's highlight package
And as Greatest Ripoff mentioned, looks like he now plays left wing.

^^ his opposition looks shit, but he still looks pretty good. plays with a lot of confidence.
looks a lot like lovitz in the video.
He is a solid player, in. Mr. Pasher. I like to see a player who does not let the level of opposition dictate how he plays, you play to your level and score. Players who know how score have the instinct.

A few questions..
When does the MLS International Transfer window close?
When does MLS freeze the rosters for playoff purposes?
How are we supposed to cope with a summer with no wild Diego Forlan talk?
With no allocation process, Beasley looks like he's not coming here and we get no compensation for the allocation order...Steven Goff @SoccerInsider · 2h
#USMNT World Cup left back DaMarcus Beasley (free agent) in talks about return to #MLS. DP contract would avoid allocation order.

Beasley deal with MLS likely to be finalized this week. Club tbd
Pasher played in the friendly against Liverpool and looked very good.
I'd like to see the team add an actual and factual winger, along the lines of Lovitz with more experience.
Looking at Pasher play and comparing that to Lovitz's college highlights it would be fair to say that Pasher is an upgrade on Lovitz.
Also Pasher looks to be playing on the wing for Michigan most likely because he possesses a superior skill set to the rest of the team and they weren't going to let him waste away at left back
