Tim Bezbatchenko is watching the Champions League final live in the stadium. Cue wild speculation.

Hahahaha what a great find. The girl was taking a picture of Nani sitting two rows behind her, but smack dab in the middle is TIM BEZ! Amazing.

Must be scouting a player right? Wouldn't be using his connections to get a seat just to watch as a fan. Has some kind of a folder on his lap too.

We kid, but don't underestimate TIM L's love of a promotion. Who's retiring from Madrid or Barcelona this season but doesn't want to give up the game yet? Because TIM B is wearing a pass around his neck and sitting in the VIP section.

Why would he be in Lisbon for this game if he's after a Barca player?

Quick transfermarkt check shows no Real Madrid players who's contracts are running out this year, and I don't really see any potential purchases from their roster. As for Atletico, there's 33 year old Tiago who's out of contract by the summer. Not much of a name there. There's also 29 year old Diego, bit of a bigger name, contract ending by the summer. 33 caps with the Brazilian national team, probably knows Julio Cesar fairly well...

edit: There's David Villa as well, though he has a year left and would need to be bought. More of a Tim Leiweke purchase though.

Warner did enough last game to get a pass from me. He's got 4 more games to do the same to win me over.

The only player out of the Athletico-Madrid camp that I could see is Diego. He could be.

Lining up Diego Simeone to be the new manager? Or maybe Ancellotti...did I hear something about him having a wedding in Canada? No salary cap for a top manager!

Just to add to the data points: Issey scored a nice goal for Montreal yesterday, which was called back on a total bullshit offside call:

Actually, when you think about it, there is no salary cap outside of player salaries.

Why not pay big bucks for some serious management, drop in the bucket for mlse, and the brand keeps growing exponentially!

Yeah Tim Bez is in Lisban looking to scout players in a Champions League final. God some of the stuff you see here is crazy, the guy's using his connections to enjoy a terrific football match. Nothing more.

hopefully he is scouting the rest of portugal while there. Maybe a partnership with the sporting lisbon academy so we can turn out superstars like they do.

I would be amazed if Tim B is in Europe only to catch one terrific football match. I'm not for a moment saying that he's scouting Ronaldo or Bale for TFC, but I'll eat my bright red woolly TFC hat if he's not over there on business, even if that business is not just showing his face, shaking a few hands and letting everyone know that TFC is a player and we mean business. But it's business nonetheless and if TFC say otherwise, I strongly suspect something good is in the works.

Agents, Agents, Agents... doubt we are going after anyone that is associated with either team but many other people are in the area. Seams pretty evident to me that we are looking at young midfielders (Tim Payne, Brazilian U21 player, Shea etc), these are all players we have either had on trial or have had confirmed contact with. I guess we just have to wait until the summer window to see who we were able to bring in.

Ola John's season is over in Germany - Benfica has alot of debt, and has loaned someone to San Jose already. Would be a great pickup for a summer loan - Airton would be good too, but i think he's playing in Brazil

Does anyone think it would be advantageous for TFC to take a shot at a loan for Ian Hume from Preston North End?

He was loaned down to League Two and even there he was used sparingly. Would be be a good fit to the MLS game? Can be the winger with a scoring touch we need.

Loan, maybe. Not sure he'd start as he has lost his game after that head injury. To outright have him on contract would probably be too much money.

To the extent management wants us to be "Canadian", this is the sort of thing I'd like to see us do. As compared to the Brockies, Ephraims, Elmers. We need to manage international slots better, this is a way to do that, and we'd all enjoy seeing some names we recognize out there.

But only at our price (ie $75K for half a season, at most)

He is bench player in League one. Not good enough, unless we bring him in to play the last ten minutes of every 3rd match? not sure of the point in that.
