I'm glad Frei got the clean sheet. Good for my fantasy team. Next week I'll be having Cesar in goal, just because I don't want to lose points for all the goals Frei is going to concede

D.C. picking up where they left off so far. Down 2-0 to Columbus 30 minutes in, Arrieta goal off some nice passing and Higuain penalty.

I'm excited for to see the Whitecaps this season. Laba and Reo-Coker is a very strong midfield. If they can find some goals they should be in the playoff mix.

It's playing a lot slower than the seattle turf. Although it was raining there, so its a tough comparison.

This ref is awful. He's missing all kinds of stuff and pulled out the yellow card already for a somewhat innocuous foul. Only a matter of time before he loses the game.

Laba has broken the play twice now and delivered a killer pass a spit second later.

Between a good chance and a glorious chance, Mattocks should have at least a goal by now. Especially that last chance. Brilliant movement but he messed up his first touch badly.

He's athletic enough to get in good positions, but not technical enough to finish the chances. His form on some of these chances is just atrocious.

Uh oh. Eckersley handball in the box, penalty to Vancouver. Looked like a good call to me.

    Easy for Miller. 1-0 Vancouver.

Caps midfield is looking good, but too bad they don't have better striker to finish off their chances. RBNY backline and midfield look slow in the game so far.

Don't see this everyday - Caps GK kicks the ball so high, hits the scoreboard for a drop ball.

If Columbus scores an away goal, does anybody within 75 miles of the stadium hear?

Fernandez was impressing even before the goal. Vancouver may have something on their hands here...

A lot of people were taking the piss out of Vancouver over the offseason - I know I was. Might be eating crow yet. They look pretty good.
