MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto

I don't get it. Says well-placed source: "It's shocking. Almost as if owners want a work stoppage. They see players as incidental to MLS' growth"

Player source obviously.
Steven Goff @SoccerInsider 13s14 seconds ago Owners' apparent lone proposal: player age 32 with 10 years' experience with same club can become free agent. #mls

"95% chance it's going down" NYC area MLS player re: a players strike.
Dont know who she is but she if followed by Grant Wahl and Jeff Carlisle
You knew it was going to be bad when the guys at the bargaining table were the Krafts and the Hunts.
Can't say there's anything "major league" about their vision of MLS. I think it's more like have people pay MLB prices for double-A type of product.
Ives Galarcep @SoccerByIves 29s30 seconds ago CBA talks sounding nightmarish. Owners not budging. One player at #MLSCBA talks told me “Hope your Orlando flight is refundable”
Is Rollins still full of shit?
Ives and Goff are guns, so anything they put out there is legit with some real meat behind it.

Congrats to Houston's Brad David. He would the ONLY MLS player that qualifies as a free agent under the owner's proposal for a bs level of free agency.

I'm hearing agents are lining up training stints w/NASL foreign teams as we speak. #mlscba
Jeff Carlisle @JeffreyCarlisle 40s40 seconds ago
I'm told that one wrinkle to this is that if a foreign player leaves country, they can't come back until strike is over. #mlscba

MLS labour dispute: #WhitecapsFC player rep Steve Beitashour says a strike vote would occur either tonight or tomorrow morning. #VWFC

Asked Source if we'll see FA in new CBA. Response: Yes. But only if they accept now. If they strike, FA will likely be pulled off the table
********
And now the threats come out. Although the threat of taking away a system that would fit only 1 current player is pretty hollow.
I've seen all sorts of comments from various journalists similar to what Duane posted.
He must have some excellent sources if he was the only one reporting it when you saw that!
Duane is typically a very reliable source. He's seldom been wrong before.
They may well settle before Saturday - and that wouldn't surprise me. But it certainly looks right now, that the players are getting ready to walk. So unless the owners do something drastic, we are done.
Duane has this thing about giving out both sides just before something might happen just so he can look good.
Its annoying as heck.

Anyhoo, I give it until tomorrow morning or this weekend is done.
I think this tweet from that fellow is more telling

Source close to negotiations on the 10 year/32 year old MLS FA proposal: "old info. we've moved and improved it since then."
I think they maybe close to a deal and the Union is having agents turn the screw on the owners on their behalf.
I'm gonna wager there is an agreement by midday Thursday.
It should be noted that Arangure is the guy who wrote that piece for Vice.
He has owner access.
I wonder if is a coincidence that TFC called me this morning, to get the payment on my new seat.
This is speaking volumes about the leakiness of the cap. FA with a hard cap wouldn't be that big a give. But with all the allocation games, that cap is obviously not very solid.
