I have liked what DC have done... especially them cutting Dero so we could bring him home. Philly has done well but really it is Toronto in 1st by a mile in the offseason game, now hopefully that will translate to the pitch but we will have to wait a month+1 day to see how it starts.

I think DCU has had the 2nd most impressive offseason, in terms of bringing in established MLS players. But in terms of potential, Philly might be 2nd best.

    This +1000.

Defoe, Bradley, Gilberto, and now Cesar coming in... not even a close contest for who won!

Given that we outspent every other team by 30-50x, this is a bit like asking which car you prefer, a Ford Focus, or a Maserati?

I don't know about Seattle. They lost some seriously important pieces.

Depends on the criteria. Clearly, if you want to talk acquisitions we have blown everyone else out of the water. Some clubs had a good offseason simply by not turning over many players (RSL, SKC). Here would be my random observation:

DC: Not so sure about their strategy of picking up other peoples MLS leftovers. That could go really well or really poorly.
Seattle & Portland: both added a fair number of good pieces but still flying under the radar.
SJ: I think they are the other huge loser of this off season nobody talks about. They gave away two very good fullbacks for peanuts and have basically added nothing.

Overall, when you look at the acquisition lists, it fees very "have" or "have not".

shut down any thread that talks about a player and place it in an ever increasingly jumble of one thread, then puts up a waste of time like this. wow

Yeah cause having 1 "Offseason moves" thread and one "rate who had the best offseason" thread makes no sense at all. U mad bro?

DC is second for me, but man I can not believe this off season for the Reds. it truly shows how amazing and unreal it is. BMO on March 22 it going to be very much like the first game ever at BMO as it is going to take a bit to truly comprehend what you are looking at, a team that has been together by those that truly care.

In the past seven year, only JC in my mind truly wore his true colours on his shoulders and Aaron was a fair man who was put in a situation that he should have never been in. But this is new era, new time, one that we have all been waiting for.

Better question should be if TFC had best off-season in MLS history.

    so, wondering.
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY QUOTES ABOUT TFC FROM OTHER TEAMS IN MLS?
Im really curious to see what people around the league think about that's going on here.

unlikely, but I can se Seattle and RSL imploding. esp RSL. too many key players are starting to get old, esp Morales, and still haven't found proper back up for Saborio. Seattle went through a massive turnover in roster, and who knows how they will click.

honestly, a lot of teams made potentially good moves, and I can't say for sure who will be where come Oct

Outside of everything the Reds have done, I do love EJ going to DC, a proven MLS and USMNT goal scorer.

This question will be answered in November when the MLS Cup champion is crowned.

luis gil is another year older; still forget he's only 21; then there is olmes garcia
seattle is still going to have 7 or 8 starters from last year; i wouldn't call that a 'massive' overhaul especially of their core. TFC on the other hand are going to have 7 or 8 NEW starters in their line up...chivas is probably in the same boat

it is really a 3 team race for 5th; chivas is going to fall flat (and lets hope so)...we have their first round pick

As TFC fan, I am thrilled and can't wait to trash MTL and VAN this season, but as a Canadian soccer fan, I am concern MTL and VAN are going to fall flat in the season and maybe in the future wouldn't keep up with MLS 3.0 movement which will make them "have nots" of MLS. If they can't keep up with big boys then it's going to hurt game of soccer in their markets which isn't good for Canada soccer.

Yup - that's actually a bit of a dilemma for us TFC and Canada fans. We want MTL and VAN to shit the bed and place lower than us, but honestly I do want them to do well against every other team. Why? Because it helps our national team. So yeah, I want them to a) lose to us, b) place lower than us in the rankings, and c) not be terrible.
