    This week, Toronto is soccer.
In a busy seven-days, both sports and entertainment-wise in Hogtown, it's soccer that will be taking centre-stage, starting with Toronto FC tomorrow.
The Nutrilite Canadian Championship decider against the Montreal Impact is arguably the biggest match in Toronto franchise history.
TFC never has been a part of anything close to a must-win situation, and that's exactly what it's facing.
If Carver thought the media has been overly negative about his squad in the past, he hasn't seen anything yet if they don't get a victory.

    Pro soccer scores in Toronto

    Jamie Sturgeon, Financial Post

    Published: Monday, July 21, 2008
Last season was dreadful for Toronto FC. The expansion club amassed the fewest goals in Major League Soccer - 25 - while allowing the most - 49 - en route to finishing dead last. It went 824 consecutive minutes without scoring.
Despite its performance, Toronto (the FC stands for football club) saw season ticket sales soar to 16,000 from 14,000 ahead of this season. The club capped it at that level to leave tickets for gate purchasers. The waiting list for season tickets now? It's more than 8,000 strong.

Having sold out all 15 games last season, Toronto's sophomore season is proving just as successful, with near-sell-out crowds of more than 20,000 through its first eight home games.

    From that Sun Article:

While we're on the subject of the all-star game, some TFC supporters are way off in their planned protest to vocalize their disappointment about the lack of TFC players on the squad.

I thought we were protesting the SSS? Anybody in the RPB Press Corp going to correct this guy?

Actually, they do, it's just rare that anyone pushes the point enough to get one. You should have jack write in and ask for one. At the very least, the sports deskers will know it's wrong for future references.

The Sun is the official paper of TFC

Maybe that's why they're purposely spreading untruths.

I say purposely because I don't care how stupid you are, I can't seem to figure out how one would think we'd protest the number of TFC players at the game. We all want no players there so they can have the itme off.

It's a little old (almost 2 weeks ago) and I didn't see it anywhere else in here. The link below goes to an article in which Carl Robinson talks about the upcoming Wales game against Russia, and how the Russians want to play it on turf. His comments are interesting.

I don't see this one elsewhere, so I'll toss it in here: MLS coach excited by attacking options

    Includes the following gem:

A target of good-natured abuse from fans on previous trips to Toronto, Donovan said he's looking forward to being on the home side for once. He called on Toronto's rowdy fans to give the MLS All-Stars an edge.

"It feels like a real game," he said of the atmosphere at BMO Field. "It feels like some of the games we play in Europe. I hope they're in full voice and make the night special."

Yeah, they'll make the night special landycakes; don't expect too much of it to be likeable though.

I really don't want to alarm anyone, but something seems to be attacking the sunshine girl.
