Defoe has only just turned 31, so he is about the right age for a DP signing. Close to being too old as a striker at Premiership and England level but should still have two or three good years left after stepping down a notch, with a very good salary thrown in to persuade him to do so before he actually has to.

If I was staring retirement within 5 years in the face, I'd be cashing in on the MLS.

Its guaranteed money, safe environment, large exposure (as the big fish in small pond), and a longer career.

Oh, and american girls love an english accent

As an Arsenal fan I say NO to Defoe but I'm a TFC fan first so if we can get him, lets do it.

What they are offering is twice the price in England.
We do not need him after the world cup he should be here in January or forget him and move on to the next target.

strange reason not to want a player...because he's going to the world cup. you do want quality players at TFC, right? that not to say defoe would be selected for the world cup team either. of course its twice as much...thats what you have to do to get players to come here.

You are not going to get any player potentially involved with a world cup team in Jan, simple facts.
