Pro teams don't practice like kids teams do. Majority of injuries occur at practice.

Saw the video. Once again, a bit different then what we heard on twitter.

    http://www.torontofc.ca/video/2014/0...n-march-7-2014

Nelsen indicates they are going to get somebody in the midfield depth wise "moving to address it ASAP". Asked about that and forwards and didn't talk about it.

Will probably improve the team "in the next few days, hopefully."

People are healthy but need to get fit.

Defoe at practice on Saturday. Probably on the bike. Waiting to see where they are at to start in Seattle. Gilberto unlikely.

"Alvaero is stitting out, Hamilton and Chris Mana...." were out today. No idea who that Alvaero and Chris guys are.

Bradley injury "starting to calm down" (whatever that means). He was out there today showing off the kit. Would not have been able to play against the Ukraine.

Can't send anybody yet to Wilmington yet because they need everybody.

CHCH covered it; haven't seen that reporter before.

Alvaro Rey. He's talking about Rey, and Chris Manela is from the Academy. He was down in Florida, at least the first time around to my knowledge.

What is wrong with our trainers is the big question. Nelsen must have chewed them out already. Looking back to Eckersley last year getting injured from coming back to early..

Maybe its not the trainers and all the guys are just so excited to be part of this set up and team that they are pushing themselves too hard to get back from injury in order to secure a spot on the starting lineup.

Dero doesnt do turf so who will be starting upfront?

This makes me a feel a bit better. Seems like the injuries have been a bit overblown. Sounds like Gilberto and Rey are most definitely out of the seattle game and Defoe just needs a little fitness test to see if he's up to game shape. Maybe i missed it but i didn't hear anything about Orr?

Last I heard Orr was getting back into full training on Tuesday or Wednesday. He could start.

Nelson doesn't look as good as his usual self. Perhaps, he's getting over a bug. Or, the enormity of his responsibility against the backdrop of injuries and star players competing priorities has finally struck him.

Let's see if he will sink or swim, shall we?
"Failure simply isn't an option at this stage. TFC pushed its chips to the middle of the table when it splurged on Bradley and Defoe and reinforced its bet by making savvy acquisitions elsewhere. This collection of players is capable of delivering on the promises made during the close season. There are no more excuses available for TFC. Only success will continue the process of atoning for the past and establishing a higher standard for the future." FOX Sports

Maybe, but to me, that sounded like he always does. Made a joke about Larson's predictions to avoid answering a question. Said his party line bit about finding out about the warts early and the week off being a blessing. Made a smiling wry note about 6 weeks ago thinking forwards was the strength of the team. He's as rairing to go as the players and probably feeling the tension of the wait, I'd say.

The two day growth of stubble is pretty normal for him during the week too. Doesn't like to shave. Bradley is growing a full beard too I noticed, and Osorio has something youthful going on with his hair.

Wonder if this is might be the midfield help Nelsen was referring to:

Seattle Sounders officially part ways with Shalrie Joseph via contract buyout.

Hope not. Shalrie is not the player he was.

I hope we sign him, but he hasn't been in camp since Bradenton. Not a good sign.

I'm really hoping for a few good signings this year. We need midfield depth, a 3rd striker and some D. It will be tough for us during the World Cup break.

Joseph WAS a top player 5/6 years ago .
Time and living habits have finished him off.
    Retirement is his only option.

Now that the season has started, it's time to start a new thread.

    http://forums.redpatchboys.ca/showth...urs-etc-thread

This thread had over 440,000 views! That shows the effect that having some big signings will have.
MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto
