I have to admit but Kelly is spot on with his article, communication between TFC management and players is/was disaster this year.
Great love does not exist without joy and without great suffering ,that's why One club is worth only as much as its fans !

Kelly's article, if that is true we will have much bigger problems when there is much bigger players and salaries .. Isn't communication the foundation of success ??

    This year?

Jeez, Mariner had the same issue last year. Nobody knew what was going on, management, players - nobody.

The more things change with this club, the more some things stay the same. Really like the way Koevs didn't hold back in his interview yesterday - really refreshing to see that kind of honesty for once. And it's not like he's ever been one to sugarcoat things either.

If I think back just one year ago, Johnson, Kocic and Cann sat there and said EXACTLY the same thing. They even went and offered Cann an appointment to discuss his future and options - one that Mariner cancelled a week later because he had a flight to Europe to scout for next year.

This organization is a joke, they are all eager to go scout and find the DP's but nobody is staying back to look after our own guys who have to plan and support themselves. If a workplace is like this, its toxic and generally you will lose good people, then attract the new and naive ones until they start figuring out that their management sucks.

For the team to have so many assistant coaches and not have any communication to the players....sure the door may be open but if the dude sitting in there is a retard and won’t be proactive in relationship management then what’s the point in even trying?

With a complete front office change and the problems like this to continue. The only answer for that is MLSE has a policy and procedures manual that has been followed for the last 7 years. I think once they revise this, hopefully the communication problem will take care of itself...

Oh who am I kidding, we're screwed.

Thing is, MLSE are a marketing company and they are sucessful at that. They view their properties as entertainment, which in a way it is.

They just let the teams manage themsleves, but it seems they all jockey themselves into these titles then play their own sick games in the boardroom. Backstabbing and fucking over the other guys are what they engage in. That again has to change. There are signs it is but they really need to entrench some policies and best practices that apply directly to fixing the team. Create some definition in the roles and build in responsibilities. Evaluate them regualarily and make sure people are accountable in their roles.

They do this to the players every day in practice, I can't believe its not adhered to in management. I fear our lack of experienced coaches really are showing that they are out of their depth.

    okay /rant

This communication issue is a big problem...

I can only hope now that the mgmt team is settled (TL, Bez, Nelson), that communication within the entire organization will improve drastically.
I remember a tweet from someone covering yesterdays Press conferences quoting Nelson saying pretty much that... something along the lines of "communication with players should improve now that we have a GM in place"

I don't remember the exact quote, or who tweeted it, but I think he was implying that it was hard for him to communicate with the players about their future, because there was no GM to fully confirm what players futures were...

Sort of a weak excuse from Nelson, but anyway, hopefully the new mgmt team gets this issue sorted out going forward - Bez seems like a level-headed guy, so hopefully that, along with some stability helps.

On the bright side, this quote from Larson's article actually made me somewhat optimistic:

"Who wouldn’t sleep more soundly after replacing Califf with Steven Caldwell, Braun with Bright Dike, Terry Dunfield with Matias Laba and Reggie Lambe with Alvaro Rey?"

When you look at it objectively, that is pretty solid improvement. If we can keep building the team with moves like this, we are definitely headed in the right direction.
