Hate to see a game go to PKs but it has to end sometime.
I think I would be nervous if I were a KC fan. Their keeper has not looked sharp tonight, and now a shootout? yikes. But maybe his veteran experience will come through.
rsl with the choke?
Zusi... ouch
SKC blow a 2 PK lead.
Olim with a bad miss
Funny thing, penalties. Nielsen looked awful during the game, I mean awful, but he's saving penalties here.
Nielsen pulls KC's ass out of the fire
And that's that. SKC win the MLS Cup. Too bad, would've liked to see the goal keepers shoot next.
wow... I was hoping for the keepers to shoot lol
Probably a fitting end, not much to choose between these two teams.
That was a nail biter!
Congrats KC.
Crazy finish. A few milimeters lower and it would have gone in. I guess in the end KC deserves the win.
Wow
What a great advert for MLS
In the end kind of glad KC won what an incredible transformation off the field for that organization, they played at a big NFL stadium with football lines and no one would show up, they then moved to a minor league baseball stadium for a few years and they still had trouble filling a 9000 seat park, but then new ownership buys the team, rebrands them get's them an amazing soccer stadium and the rest is history, well done.
Was I the only one that noticed gridiron lines on the field. I picked SKC to win it all before playoffs began but I think mls needs to adopt hockey's sudden death format to settle championship game. I think if either team knew it could be over with one shot somebody would have taken more of a chance and scored in extra time. Zusi is the most over rated player in mls, this guy does nothing in games that matter. If the US is looking to him to do anything in brazil, good luck.
Golden goal has been tried and discarded. Any serious league will not use it.
Thought it was a pretty good game. Yeah, it was physical, but there were some pretty technical stuff displayed too, esp from 2nd half on. And tons of drama in the PK.
And Jimmy Nielsen played with broken ribs. That's a hard man
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
