I hope they broadcast the matches for the sake of insomniacs who need some help to fall asleep.

I just read the press release. This is their first season! Talk about starting off on the wrong foot. They promise "entertaining" soccer...lol... didn't they even watch one of his TFC match tapes?

Absolutely we should. If someone gets their manager from the worst team in MLS history and considers it a "prime signing," one wonders how their decision-making is carried out. It's not like there aren't a lot of college coaches for whom the next logical step would be the NASL.

No offense, but do you guys think that Toronto is so discounted in soccer circles that it is assumed that no coach would be able to do well in T.O., so interviewers just discount that part of an applicant's resume?

For comparison purposes Ottawa Fury FC will also be starting NASL in 2014 and opted for Marc Dos Santos (formerly of the Montreal Impact) as their coach.

Really? I bet we'd be further ahead if we'd stuck with Preki than we are now.

I'm not a huge Preki fan, but he gets far too much flack. You'd think he was as bad as MoJo the way some fans speak of him.

Decent signing for that level. I hope he does well.

I'm considering Preki a crap coach, but he's still a lot better than Mr. Shortpants Anotherpint Mariner.

I'll be interested how Preki does without having to talk to MoJo about every move he wants to make. He can be the biggest ego in the room now.

He was the biggest ego in the room then! They hated each others guts. That's why when MoJo went down, he dragged Preki down with him! Preki made MoJo's life a living hell so MoJo reciprocated. That's what happens when a league forces a coach on a club (again).

Sacramento is actually launching a USL Pro team, not NASL. That's third division, which is equal to [but probably run better than] our CSL.

Interesting view, but it seemed at the time that MoJo genuinely wanted Preki and took him on staff, but things soured pretty quickly when it turned out he had a different view on what players to get and what players to play. The league interference wasn't as blatant as it was when Garber engineered the move of Payne to Toronto, but back then TFC wasn't quite yet a basket case.

    I agree.

I would take a really nice undefeated run at home over the "beautiful attacking soccer" we've witnessed since his departure.

I dunno how MLS can say no to Sacramento
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

Not saying no, just think they want to keep the reorganized Chivas team in the LA area.

And your thread title is incorrect. Wiki says:
"Sacramento Republic FC is an American professional soccer team based in Sacramento, California. Founded in 2012, the team made its debut in the USL Pro in 2014."
