Toronto sports, ugh...
Toronto sports, ugh...
Also good thing thew away the CCL so can look like absolute crap on the road trip.
Hey, maybe Brockie will live up to the hype about coming into his prime and see this as a chance to carry a team.
They should move TFC to New York and let us start over again
This is going to be a looooooooooooooong 10 days.
Well, Nellie has to try to keep spirits up and he hasn't used the general "we got hosed by the ref" yet for a game result. This seems like an ideal occasion, even though we didnt' get hosed by the ref.
Tired of this shit and disgusted by the team's performance. Relegation to the NASL would be a blessing at this point.
It's one of one things. I think I've reached the point of trying to convince myself that we were going to be this bad, and that's ok.
But if I have to do that then obviously it's not ok anymore.
Next game is not till the 18th. It's not a good thing for a club that talks about attracting fans back to go that long with 3 loses on the mind.
But it also got me thinking, what if the win vs SKC was a draw or worse?
I really want to see Nelsen finally blow up in post game instead of blaming himself for some insignificant decisions. If he blames himself again then he will be admitting hes incompetent.
Yeah our set pieces both attacking and defending have been disappointing especially for a team that's supposed to be scrappy, that should be right in our wheel house.
Whatever is going on with that zonal marking thing on the corners... it might be the textbook thing that works better, but this group of players just can't handle it. We got beat from a flick on at the near post.. that shouldn't have been rocket science, but everyone looks really confused about what they should be doing.
Well that was an absolute bore.
Fuck me, some of these players are just fucking shite!
I'd say 60% of the guys who played tonight were brutal. No ball control, lack of discipline, lack of football IQ!
The basics are just not being executed!
So I just found out 3 Toronto teams lost tonight! This is second time this happened recently. Hopefully Argos do well in this season for sake of Toronto.
Well that's that, then. If you weren't already convinced, now you know for sure this is a bad team with holes all over the roster. At some point the coaching would have to be questioned as well. We're still TFC, and the last six years have given us a pretty good idea what that means.
I hope the new loans can contribute. If not then we're stuck with this roster until the summer. It could get ugly.
Wow, I couldn't even imagine.
if this was a rebuilding year, then after 12 competitive games surely we should be seeing some slight progress not regression. I hate to say it but I'm beginning to see a coach out of his depth the same as Winter was, only difference is that English is his first language and he's more demonstrative. Maybe Nelsen will turn out to be a good coach but I think Payne has made a huge mistake in thinking this club has time enough to wait for him get over the learning curve
i agree with everything that has been said here, every page, every word, and everything yet to be said
I'm thinking its more Payne that's not able to live up to his job if bringing in players. So far it seems the guys brought in were all desperate stopgsp Nelsen connections.
Where are the quality value central and South American signings?
What has Payne ffone except trade down for allocation and disappointing Bekker?
Love this city, but I've had Phaneuf of following local teams. As cottage season approaches, my STH tickets will collect dust.
I still think O'Dea and Boss can do the job if given time to gell.
But the fans panic as badly as the players did tonight and demand change, while the media, who all grew up on hockey, consider the playoffs the only way to judge the team.
We are crap.
We started with crap at the beginning of the year.
We had no scouting system.
We had ridiculous contracts.
We played better at times tonight then we played all of last season.
But we desperately need a midfield presence to stabilise a game. put a stamp on it, and know when to calm things down, and when to ramp things up.
Look at Wondo tonight....that's front line leadership. Danny K does that. Nobody else in this team does.
the first half performance was very good.. if they could play like that all the time it would be a good season, they came out in the second half looking like chickens with their heads cut off most the time... im not giving up yet though
Gotten rid of contracts like Hassli.
Got us a decent DM on a young DP contract.
Started to make contacts and create a scouting team.
Do not underestimate how long it takes to build a team from below scratch.
We will truly know where this team sits under Payne and Nelson only in June of 2014.
That was freaking horrible. If I have to watch another game of our back line and keeper bombing the ball to the oppositions back line and keeper I'm going to throw something at my big screen.
this is just heart breaking, game after game.
He is incompetent, or simply over his head having no prior experience. But he does have something of note, he is used to being a big part of a losing team. But joining a sports entertainment business used to losing enabled this. Nelson is not to blame, not his fault the guy who hired him imagined for a minute that Nelsen could offer something more. If a dimwit offered me a million bucks to build a flying carpet, I would be a dimwit if I said no.
Looking more and more like Mariner's team with each game. Outpossessed and thoroughly outplayed.
And Nelsen says this:
LOL“I don’t think an opposition team has earned a goal against us yet. It has just been cases of us switching off and they just walk it though into the back of the net.”
Because the goals we've scored have been magical right? The points that this team has earned were built on the back of opposition players gaffes and spotty penalty kick calls.
Wrap it up. Seasons over. It's sad to say so early but I don't see any progress.
That line is really really out of context. I watched that and saw a coach not happy and saying enough is enough. He said they have all been given a try and new players are coming in. Watch the video. He calls the goals soft, exactly the opposite of what you are suggesting he said.
