Default Portland to make one boy's wish come true

And go balls deep in making it happen

“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

Saw that yesterday. Good on Portland and the Timbers Army for their support on that.

There was some friendly banter between Portland & Seattle fans yesterday, whether a whack of Seattle fans would travel down for this game to cheer against the Timbers.

Incredibley classy by everyone involved in making this happen. Particulary the supports who'll attend. The idea of being able to do this infront of a flag waving, singing crowd made me teary eyed with happiness for this young boy.

One of the comments I read said the Timbers Army are all in for this - basically they are coming out in numbers. Very cool...

Fair play by both the club and the Timbers Army for making this happen.

Those highlights were awesome. Thanks for starting this thread.

I'm not even sure what to say right now. I would love to be a part of something like that.

    More on Atticus's day

Apparently this is getting a lot of MSM attention.

    That made my day.

Look for Will Johnson in the background near the end of the video (6:27) wearing Atticus's jersey. video funny.

Quote from Will Johnson “I’ve actually never asked anyone to trade jerseys, so that was probably the first and only time in my career I’ll ask for somebody’s jersey," Johnson said after the match. "I’m quite proud to own his jersey.”

Quote from Atticus “Usually kids just choose to go to Disneyland with their family or getting something," Atticus explained. "I chose something that lots of people could do."

why do things like this always happen to the best kids out there. What a proud family he must have.

Amazing. Pure class all around. If ever there was an opportunity to do something like that at BMO, I'd like to be a part of it.

I have shown this to at least a dozen people.

I love Portland, toss up between them and DC as my second team. If Dero, Jacovic and Porter weren't there I probably would be behind the Timbers.

Question, if tfc did this would you show up?

    Truly is classy.

Not to distract this thread, but Portland does it right by the fans too.
