Larson doesn't quite get how much of a system a football team is.

When you add in a good, fast, workhorse of a DM, it takes pressure off the CD's and the WB's and the AM and the wingers.

When you add a good fast workhorse of a DM who can lay off the ball quickly, it expands the capabilities of your AM and your wingers and your forwards to move the ball forward without resorting to CD/WB to forward hoofball.

Sorry, I question the guys football IQ.

I wanted to say something to that effect, but you've been much more eloquent than I would have been... Larson is right that our AM's aren't giving the desired level of service to the forwards, but I have to agree with the points you've made, and add that having a solid DM in the system will also cause the opposition to respect the midfield a lot more and take pressure off the other positions.

Bostock talks to the UK press about MLS:

MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto

Agreed, just goes to show the immaturity of our local media when it comes to analyzing the game. He only needs to look outside of our team in this league to see clubs held together by their DM. Yes it's great if you can find that guy for 250k, but if he costs DP money, it's still worth it. It has become a key piece for any team in this league, not the "luxury item" he wants to describe it as.

Personally, I don't put any stock into anything Larson says, he's negative for the point of being negative.
