    He has to stay in Canada and accumulate a total of five years of residency to earn his passport as well as qualify under FIFA's guidelines. He's only halfway there right now. If he leaves to another league, or is even traded to a U.S. team, it delays the process that much more. Every day spent outside our border is another day not on the team.
