Crew trade with NER for rights to Parkhurst, then sign him. (As per Official Team Release)

He would have looked good beside Caldwell, or even shifting to RB ahead of Bloom.
Wonder what the Crew gave NER, and how much he signed for?

EDIT: Apparently the Crew gave up their 1st round pick - 4th Overall, plus allocation (as per Steven Goff). The Allocation was about $100k, and Parkhurst's salary is believed to be north of 300k (as per Jeff Carlisle).

At that price, and that salary, wouldn't have made sense for us.

    Yup...

It makes sense too. It's hard to have real credibility as a league if your own international stars don't see it as a legitimate career option.

well they all had to leave because they refused to make current MLSers DPS.

I hope the hard nosed MLS boys club change their mind on this. Perhaps a new DP spot for americans or MLSers to get promoted to

They should have separate Domestic DP (for American and Canadian MNT players) and Import DP designations.
Would allow us to bring a USMNT star like Bradley home to MLS, while not having to give up a valuable young player with tons of potention like Laba.

Im curious if MLS has a plan for marqee DPs this off season or is the rest of the league really not doing anything big? The rumours out there arent very big, save for xavi, cole and lampard.
