That would be a shame if true. I have to think back to the Milos Kocic interview on extra time with Anthony Totera. He goes on at length about unnamed young players on TFC that have lots of talent but also a sense of entitlement He worries that they won't make it professionally because they're not putting in the work necessary and talks about how difficult it is to stick as a pro.

I really don't care about his resume, he's a waste of space IMO
Agreed. We need way more productivity from those wing spots.

Still dreaming of getting Alex Lopez from Honduras!

For some odd reason, this is common with a lot of Canadian players.

Not at all impressed, but I guess Nelsen wants 'his' guys in the back.

I think Brockie will be interesting, rest are rubbish.

The thing with Ben Haim is that he's played his whole career at a higher level than the MLS. Some of the other players we have got recently have been Championship level AT BEST in their career - but Haim has always played Premiership. I think he will be fine at MLS level UNLESS he gets the "Laurent Roberts" and thinks he's better than the club and league.

There is no such rumor floating around except maybe in your own head. Would be a ridiculous move to cut him. Also probably not possible as he has just signed a contract.

Nice try, please link to some proof.

I think this break will give our new comers some much needed time to settle in and get acclimated with the new team. A favorable schedule for a change will help this team turn the corner. I predict a five game unbeaten streak when we resume playing, three of those wins.

I was going to ask what drugs you were on but looking at the schedule, that is plausible.

he was awesome for Bolton, but that was in like 07. low to mid table EPL talent thought he was better than he was. I suppose I can't blame him for trying, but big wages flashed in his eyes and thought he could hack it in Chelsea and Man City.

Back to training today for the Reds, hopefully the new guys will be there and things can begin to turn around. You never know. Will be interesting to see what Kevin Payne has to say at his 11:30 media gathering today.

So according to reporters at the TFC practice today, no players have been released by the team. It would be interesting to know how all these overseas players are being fit in.

Larson's twitter feed has some good info:

    ^ Thanks.

I guess we have a little bit of leeway to be roster compliant? Is there a deadline?

Huh WTF? Then what do I read on this web page: http://www.torontofc.ca/news/2013/05...n-haim-toronto

Toronto FC announced Thursday that it has acquired Israeli international defender Tal Ben Haim on loan from English Premier League (EPL) club, Queens Park Rangers F.C. (QPR).

EDIT I wonder if it might be a "gentlemen's agreement" until they make their roster compliant. But then it's still pretty strange to put out that press release last week.

^ I bet it'll be at least a month after playing in a reserve game before we see him in an MLS game. So if he does play this weekend that's good.

    John Molinaro ‏@JohnMolinaro6m
So Ben Haim might not be coming to #TFC after all, according to Payne. Brockie and Caldwell will be available for Saturday.
    Hmmm...

We should be proud, TFC has earned a facepalm from Ives. At least they're good at something:

So we did not get "the best central defender in the Premier League in the last 10 years"??

Payne needs to shut up a little and just do business. Seems to want the spotlight a little too much.

There are two aspects to this sort of deal. The clubs can agree to the loan, but the player has to agree to the personal terms of the loan move, as well. Perhaps Ben Haim wanted assurances that he would get a contract at the end of the loan or something along those lines. So it looks like he might have thrown a wrench into things.

Apparently Ryan Nelsen is in England right now. Perhaps putting employment flyers on players cars around the big London clubs?

Sounds right to me. And this is also the player that was holding Portsmouth to random over his huge salary, and almost put the whole football club out of business. It wouldn't surprise me if he's looking for DP money and a long contract, he seems that type of guy.
