Ah, the day after is almost upon us.
Ah, the day after is almost upon us.
The question is... is he coming in/to the right place.
Good to see more academy kids getting signed. I trust management has learned from their mistakes and this isn't another Cordon/Makubuya/Stinson etc.
I was at the Roma practice tonight and got a chance to speak to KP about both Maxis; he admitted they are still working on potential deals (neither denied or confirmed anything) and that they were difficult negotiations. He was, however, raving about Elmer and Rey signings which could be a bad sign. KP has a good poker face; the rest of the week will be interesting. Nice guy all around.
There was also the "small matter" of the Falklands/Malvinas war in 1982 during which Pinochet-led Chile provided covert assistance to the UK at the expense of some Argentines' health. I understand that may have caused some bad blood, what with all the blood and everything.
Wow, NOB are showing next to zero class on this whole thing. Think we'll get Urruti by the end of the week, anyway..
Everyone in here will happy once Urrutiwatch is all over won't they haha
If we sign Urruti to go with Laba, Ulmer, Rey and Caldwell then I am happy. If we do not get Urruti then the FO does not get passing marks. We have not signed any attacking player
Yeah, I totally agree with this sentiment. They tried to play the game, and lost this time.
NOB negotiated, then reneged. Then for whatever reason, didn't pay their player. All this saber-rattling is simply a means for NOB FO to save some face with a fan-base that's surely pissed and calling for their heads!
Warning: Google translate:
Must be from a wire service because these two sources have the exact same article up:Among the oddities and controversies are just a small space, and Newell's, Final tournament champion last, was surprised with the decision taken by Maximilian Urruti. The center-emerged as an option to replace Ignacio Scocco, transferred to Inter, Porto Alegre. The striker took leave of his companions, the club withdrew their belongings and their future will be in Toronto FC, Canada. But the leaders of the entity Rosario demanding payment of $ 150,000 in character training rights and no amount stipulated by the abrupt termination of the contract, and that they understand that the link ends in June 2014. For this reason, sent letters document to Toronto FC, the Canadian Soccer and Major League Soccer is indicating that Urruti free player.

Does he need his ITC to play tonight? If he is in Toronto today for his medical it would be nice to give him a few min to get his leg under him. With unlimited subs getting him 20-30 min would be ideal.
So since no one at the FO can keep a secret, I'll take the absence of Urruti frenzy as he wasn't on the plane last night. Journos on twitter, the acme of credibility.
Edit:
Ok, I'll walk this back (a bit). Quispe did say it would be Thursday or Friday. Others did say he was on his way, though.

I'm sure this has already been answered several times, but can someone please tell me what time the summer transfer window closes tomorrow?
TIA
Probably midnight
So it looks like were only getting one Maxi?
Or the FO has stopped leaking things because it's really close and they don't want to screw it up. And since it seems that these supposed journos get their leaks from the FO, it makes sense that they're quiet too. IIRC there have been a number of signings this season that they were completely in the dark about
Some of you are really optimistic. More than two good signings to turn tfc into a competitive team
just saw this on twitter, dont know how valid it is. Take it for whats its worth.

#Urruti medical with #TFC confirmed today. @JohnMolinaro
FWIW, I had to take a look at arrivals at pearson, and so I checked tomorrow's arrivals from Argentina. Only flight appears to be arriving at 5:35 am tomorrow. Friday's arrivals are not posted yet. So if Uritti's arriving tomorrow, it should be quite early. Early enough to call a presser for later that day... we'll see
Depends on what you consider to be "competitive". Seeing as we've played 20 matches in league play and lost only two of them (both away) by more than one goal you could say that we aren't as far away as some people who think we need like 8-9 players to "compete". Some people may think competing is being in every match but if competing is getting into position to at least challenge for 5th in the east then I don't think we're that far off (3 players maybe).
