Based on our current squad I have a hard time seeing how we can get out of that fixture with a point or 3. But it's football, so anything is possible.
On paper the Whitecaps have the stronger roster at this stage. I have not watched any of their pre-season highlights or games so I don't really have much other than their line-up to go on.
Getting an away point is always good. I'd be quite happy with a tie but I'm still concerned we are leaking goals. I'm not confident our D will be up to the task early in the season.
Prediction: Shitecaps 3 - TFC 1 (my hope is for a tie)
Best hope is to scrape a draw. 'Craps should win though.
So pending any big moves this week I suspect we'll roll with a 4-2-3-1

I think this one could get ugly. There are just too many question marks throughout the roster due to the delay in player acquisitions and injuries.
Those were my thoughts exactly.
We still need 2 wingers and a striker to do anything.
I do think we'll be way better defensively but there will be a lot of 1-0 losses this year.
The game out West and no cohesion on this squad means a whipping from the Caps.
That's how I see it as well. I have a hard time seeing where the goals are going to come from during the run of play. The "easiest" goals are usually headers but who's going to cross the ball with any decency? Lambe is not really that consistent guy and I don't have enough information on Welshman to be confident about his abilities.
I think this, combined with our defence which will still be getting used to playing together with conspire to hand us a 0-2 defeat.
The Caps have really upgraded with speed on the flanks with Manneh and Hurtado. What I'm afraid is that Ecks or Morgan (if he's healthy enough) get caught pushed too far up and Caps score on a counter using their speed. If I was Rennie, I'd start Mattocks over Miller, using Kobayashi as AM to feed the strikers in 4-3-3. Reo-Coker and Koffie should do well to break up TFC attack through the middle.
Caps 'weakness' is relatively old defence corps, with Rochat being the youngest at 30. But collectively, they have a lot of experience and smart. If TFC is going to get anything, it's going to be on a counter or a set piece.

TFC 4 - Shitcaps 0
Cause, why not?
Based on our current roster, and taking match fitness into account, I would roll with the kids on Saturday...

I'd be happy if TFC keep this within 3 goals! Anything more is going to be a bonus! And scoring an actual goal will be a big bonus! Anything more will be a miracle! But stranger things have happened, I guess!
We're going to get smoked like a pipe.
Just improve on the first time we opened there, please.

The early odds from the bookies are: 1.72 (VAN) 3.50 (DRAW) 5.00 (TOR).
Seems a bit generous for those interested in backing Vancouver. Montreal is 6.00 away to Seattle and I'd expect that to be a tougher call than this game considering our current state.
So, 2pm probably no news today.
Is this actually happening?
I predict 0-0. Nigel Reo-Cokehead get's sent off in his quest to adjust to the MLS game.
It's a road game to open the season. Even if we had a firm, MLS-level starting XI, we'd still lose because it's a fact that no one wins away games in MLS.*
*unless playing at BMO Field
Prediction: Shitecaps: 4, TFC 0 with a disallowed goal for Van Shitty to boot.
I'm going to go with 4-1 for Van with our goal being scored on a penelty. That's the most hope I can pull together for this one.
Who would you pick out of that lot to be our captain?
Cesar?
Odea?
Silva?
Are T.Morgan and Bennett actually signed and under contract?
