I don't post as often as I should, but I check this board religiously each and every day.

Your work is very much appreciated.

Post According to Asif and the TFC Blog.....

Toronto FC arrived in Central Florida on Friday night to continue its preseason preparations that will include matches at the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic tournament starting on February 9.
Training sessions in Orlando get underway on Saturday afternoon. On that day head coach Ryan Nelsen is expected to arrive after finishing his playing career in England at midweek.
I am in Orlando to provide regular reports until we leave on February 24. Daily updates will also be found onTwitter, Instagram, YouTube & Facebook.
    This is promising.
"Failure simply isn't an option at this stage. TFC pushed its chips to the middle of the table when it splurged on Bradley and Defoe and reinforced its bet by making savvy acquisitions elsewhere. This collection of players is capable of delivering on the promises made during the close season. There are no more excuses available for TFC. Only success will continue the process of atoning for the past and establishing a higher standard for the future." FOX Sports

If we trade Hassli and open up a DP spot, we could conceivably offer Peralta a DP spot AND Quioto a youth DP spot. Dare to dream I guess

I don't think anyone can argue that Payne isn't a hard worker and a very astute tactician.

He has done a lot over the last two months since he was hired. It took Anselmi and the other two stooges many more months to do what he has and with better cap management. Look how long it took Anselmi to hire Klinsman, then a coach with his advice between Preki and Winter (Sept 2010 to Jan 2011). Anselmi moved liked molasses and fucked the start of our 2011 season with us scrambling to get guys in and not having a complete roster by kickoff.

Payne has done more in two months then Anslemi and crew were able to do in six. It looks like one more month tops and the roster will be settled, and it also looks like next season will be a minor retooling of maybe 4 or 5 spots with some key missing pieces and with a lot of cap room to boot.

I can't wait to see how this pans out, but for the first time in a long time I am not scratching my head trying to figure out which direction this headless chicken is running to.

It is confidence inspiring early on, I have to say. Kevin Payne gets on perceived problem areas fast.

The way Johnston, Winter, and Mariner went about things only left cause for confusion. Everybody would know we needed players in position X, but the manager wouldn't move to correct it, either because of bad talent evaluations or inability to balance a salary cap. Imagine hiring someone who doesn't have to learn on the job, novel concept.

With respect to Aron Winter, I think he expected more from Mariner. He was suppose to be the expert in MLS player evaluations.
