FORMER FULL TIME KOOL-AID DRINKER
I just watched today's Harry Redknapp weekly press conference at QPR. When asked about the Ryan Nelsen situation he said he needs to speak to him about staying at QPR longer. Does this mean that the situation is not as clear cut as we think?
^Well, I don't know what's going on, but I wish 'arry luck with that. Nelsen seems pretty committed to being here Feb. 1.
BTW, date should probably be changed in thread title.
At the end of the day, Ryan Nelsen can just retire, and QPR would have to honour that - If Ryan Nelsen has given a hard deadline, and he's as straight a shooter as everyone says he is in terms of his intentions to coach TFC, and QPR is still asking him to stay, he will probably just retire and put any questions to bed. He's given his all for the team this year; it's time for others who are paid way more than he is to step it up for the team.
EDIT: Might also be a negotiating tactic for players they are still trying to sign, let's not forget...

He could be (and I'm just guessing I have no insight) just saying that for the supporters/season pass holders/his rep in the media...
They're probably not happy and/or critical of Harry for having Nelson leave mid-season, so Harry in the media will say "...I did everything I could to keep him..." etc etc etc - while in fact behind closed doors they both shook on it and agreed...
"...Money wasn't tight, but it like, it wasn't right..."

World's craziest free kick
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

is..RN even here.has anybody seen a picture or any vid of him on the pitch with the boys, the lack of camp coverage is a joke.

More UK press on Redknapp comments
"Manager Harry Redknapp refuses to concede defeat in his battle to keep defender Ryan Nelsen at QPR for as long as possible."

who knows....maybe we should ask IVES,because that group of local writers that have no clue.
He's giving up his remaining salary anyway, right? Why wouldn't he just retire?
I also believe it's just optics on arry's part. Needs to make it look good. And i don't blame him.
It could be like this...
Ryan: Harry, when can I leave? I'm anxious to start in Toronto and my glass knees and ankles are hurting...
'Arry: I need you right now... but can let you go the 1st after all those critical games (thinking March 1st)
Ryan: First it is, then (thinking February 1st).
MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto
The coverage is garbage every year. Not sure why people are surprised.
