Will be cool if Bekker gets to play against Eriksen in the Denmark game.

I'd be very surprised if Eriksen is called up on a non FIFA date friendly

Watching Ryan Nelson play today got me thinking...our revolving door of coaches would make a pretty kick-ass fantasy starting 11. We'd have to use some of the assistants to make up a full team though.

Take Klinsmann by default and throw Jim Brennan in net.

Nelson should be a player coach - Reggie Dunlop style!

woah shit, I didn't even look at the match calendar to see that. I certainly hope he doesn't get called up the day before we play Vitesse!

I don't understand all these quotes coming up about Kyle Bekker 'only' being 5'10. Honestly, that misses the mark entirely.

The point is that he isn't that fast or that strong, but that really has nothing to do with how tall he stands. There are plenty of guys out there who are sub 5'9 playing in more athletically demanding leagues than MLS. Spain fields a whole national team of them. Some of them aren't even that 'athletic' by the traditional definition, they can just flat out play.

Other than one or two positions on the field, height is largely irrelevant.

"Failure simply isn't an option at this stage. TFC pushed its chips to the middle of the table when it splurged on Bradley and Defoe and reinforced its bet by making savvy acquisitions elsewhere. This collection of players is capable of delivering on the promises made during the close season. There are no more excuses available for TFC. Only success will continue the process of atoning for the past and establishing a higher standard for the future." FOX Sports

    From the article:
Redknapp added: “He [Nelsen] is a great pro, a good centre-half. We’re going to lose him unfortunately, start of March, end of February.”

If Nelson is in place before our first game I would be ecstatic. And really, he needs to be here by then.

not fifa sanctioned international break; clubs can reject call ups (ala why lucas cavallini is not on the canadian team)

lol yup. In fact, taller people have a higher center of gravity so they generally can't change directions as quickly as a comparatively skilled short player.
