Atlanta surprising me in so many ways.
Loved Enter The Garage, but completely a player of a different time in TFC annals. Arrived at the Columbus airport cleats in hand and jumped in a cab heading for Crew Stadium, having just signed the day of the game.

lol.....certainly not my favourite player here, but will never forget watching Gargan score v Houston, while I was watching the game on the ESPN feed from a boat in the middle of the Mediterranean on my honeymoon.....the wife was quite less enthusiastic about the game though .....

A man of many talents, who could ever forget his stint as the weatherman on the CTV evening news.

Feeling like an old man seeing all these players joining broadcast teams. Also feeling like an old man because I am an old man.

Funny thing, Gargan played for a few more years on a good LA Galaxy team. Obviously they knew how to use him.

I admit, I have a soft spot for Dan Gargan. As much as he was a blue collar plumber at best, he certainly wasn't he worst bag of hammers we ever had.

Defoe has a clause that he negotiated when he left here that allows him to escape Sunderland on a free.

Mumsie does not approve of Championship football for her son. She made sure her little boy had a note that excused him from that level of football should the time come when Sunderland would be relegated.

I am amazed that Sunderland gave Defoe that out. I wonder what might have happened had that not happened.

We wouldn't have Altidore, at a minimum.

Funny how things turn on these details.

Although I have to wonder if Sunderland were able to make a contract with anyone over the past five years without that out. There are only so many times you can make a miracle escape.

He was player of the year in Belgium's 2nd division recently as well I think. Good for him, he seems to have remade himself a bit as a player.

JDG now head coach of Ottawa Fury
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.

I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’

And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”

He looks very happy, good for him. I always rated him and at 28 would still look good in a Red shirt.

Damn... domestic violence against his wife, and presently they are going through divorce.

Though he doesn't hit her, just tackled her, and...:
"fell to the ground and hit the right side of her head on their brick patio. She also scraped her right knee, left hand and right arm."

It doesn't look like he wanted to do any physical harm.
