Man, now is it that Bendik has now won 3 Save of the Week honors this year so far? I'm starting to wonder if it really was a really poor back four that was the crux of our problem, not the keeper.

Well there's been mention of howlers in mls highlights as well. I watch him every week and it's about the same issue of inconsistency.

Not to toot my own horn, but...

One member of the media continuously backed Bendik as a legit top 5 'keeper in MLS.

    Too late!
"Failure simply isn't an option at this stage. TFC pushed its chips to the middle of the table when it splurged on Bradley and Defoe and reinforced its bet by making savvy acquisitions elsewhere. This collection of players is capable of delivering on the promises made during the close season. There are no more excuses available for TFC. Only success will continue the process of atoning for the past and establishing a higher standard for the future." FOX Sports

Save of the week and being a top 5 keep are very different things.

A save of the week is a single moment in a game.
being a top 5 goalie you need to have more than just a good moment here or there - distribution, communication, etc all add up to being a top 5 goalie.

    Default VICE - Rohan Ricketts

Couldn't find the past TFC players thread.

Seems like this guy can't land a gig anywhere. He his head is too big for his shoulders IMO.

That article screams frustration to me, with him going on about how technical he is and his sour grapes about England. Unfortunately, he was a highly rated youngster who never reached his ceiling.

He has turned down a few offers, with a son now, it's getting hard for him to just shoot off around the world for any offer that comes his way. Hard to take the family to such places as Thailiand etc.

I put Rohan in the same category as Issey: some guys just aren't the "personality type" that coaches like. In Rohan's case, he spent too much time promoting personal appearances and not enough improving his game. Guy scored two goals that were beautiful in one game. The talent was obviously there; it's the headspace that isn't.

Torsten Frings continuing as an assistant at Werder Bremen, signed until 2018:

Torsten Frings and Florian Kohfeldt, the assistant coach duo, will also remain until 2018, as well as goalkeeping coach Christian Vander.

Just looking happened to come across the League 1 Ontario website and noticed that former TFC player Jimmy Brennan is the head coach of Aurora in this league, does not look like he is having any kind of success with them this season, they are one of the teams at the bottom of the standings with a record of 1W 8L 2 T with 8 goals for and 33 against for a -25 +/- record ouch! I guess he would not be on any coaching list anytime soon to replace Vanney if he were to falter lol!

Bizarrely there is a guy with the same name at Valenciennes, which is where Kantari just signed

Well there you go, Damien signs with Nottingham Forest on a free transfer. Figure he is making at least the same or if not better money than he was with Toronto.

lack of transfer fee always helps in wage negotiations during contract discussions but wasn't it only in March that Forest were having issues in actually paying their players. Hopefully they have whatever issue that was sorted.
