SO, this Braun kid slots in on the wing?
or is to be our star center forward?
Or to be some kind of slot man?
    Or ?

1 goal per 4.5 matches. That is about the 3rd best rate on our club behind Hassli and Koevermans, no?

    This just made me sad.

I can't believe we had Alan Gordon and let him go... is his Wiki page right?!? 18 goals this year in 33 appearances? That's better then Koevermans strike rate with us so far I think.

EDIT: Gordon 1 goal per 1.83 games
Koevs 1 goal per 1.53 games

the trade made sense at the time... Gordon played just 10 games in 2011 due to injury. didn't play much in 2010 either. hindsight is always nice

something tells me a 6"3 striker is something we can utilize with two poachers up front.
especially a guy who found great form in chivas doing a similar thing.

I'm curious to see how Maund does under a different coach and conversely how Braun does under Mariner (assuming he's still around).

BTW, what's going on at RSL ?

Facebook comment from Limpact fan: "You can have him! He did NOTHING for Impact and Jesse Marsch gave him PLENTY of playing time to prove himself. He never did. Way to go TFC. Looking forward to that Voyageur Cup semi-final!"

He had 13 goals in 23 appearances - one of the best strike-rates in the league, projected over a full season that would place him 2nd or 3rd in league scoring.

Retooling. RSL was maxed out on salary cap, none or little allocation money and needed to fix their offence. Jason Kreis and GM Garth Lagerwey wasn't satisfied with being good, so going for the next level.

I guess you can do that when you have a scouting network.

    That's right.

18 goals in 33 appearances over the last two season.

Very interesting. If you look at his goals-per-shot ratio it's better than 1-in-4 (Andy Cole was famously over four during his productive partnership with Dwight Yorke at Man U.), but he only average about 1.3 shots per game, which for a striker is very poor.

The knock on him from past coaches was that he had raw talent but was behind in developing at the pro level because he didn't start training properly until he was 20. These numbers suggest good foot skills, probably good in the air, but can't make his own chances. A poacher, basically, but based on his poor shot total one with positioning/anticipation issues.

Braun for Maund, it's TFC's new team building strategy, trade players for one's who have rhyming names, next its Frings for Ching
